The Greatest is Always the Mother
In this game, the arrogance of the Pioneers can be seen everywhere.
They use other creatures as test subjects, build laser cannon towers, create Skybreakers, and ruthlessly slaughter all creatures infected with disease—even the overlord of this planet.
These creatures were imprisoned and used as mere tools.
But it is precisely because of this arrogance that the Pioneers ignored the heart of the Sea Emperor, who had always wanted to communicate with them. In the end, they met their downfall.
How should I put it? There is a kind of fatalism in it...
It was clear that John, the player in the video, was stunned by this revelation. He hesitated for a moment before saying, "But even if your children are born, how will they leave? You're in a volcanic area more than 1,000 meters deep..."
"Do not worry about that. Come with me," the Sea Emperor responded, leading John to the other side of the pond.
Then, she exhaled through her insect-like mouthparts, stirring up a gust of wind that blew away the dust at the bottom of the pond, revealing a door engraved with faint green patterns.
"This is a space portal built by the Pioneers. Through this gate, one can travel outside," the Sea Emperor explained.
John swam closer and scanned the portal with his wristband. As expected, just as the Sea Emperor had said, the portal led to the surface of the planet. However, it required ion crystals to activate.
The audience wasn't surprised that the Pioneers could build portals. After all, their spatial rifts could already teleport things across space. In terms of technology, the Pioneers were truly advanced!
"Guys, this portal needs ion crystals to open. You can find them at the alien artillery towers, so remember to grab some when you play!" John's voice-over explained.
In the video, John quickly took an ion crystal from his backpack and placed it into a groove in front of the portal.
The next moment, with a surge of energy, the space portal activated, emitting trails of green light from within.
"You can use this to travel to the shoal and collect the materials needed for the hatching enzymes. My children can also leave through this portal," the Sea Emperor said. "I am very tired now and need to rest. I hope you can hurry. If possible, I would like to see my children hatch. Thank you."
After speaking, the Sea Emperor lay motionless at the bottom of the pond, looking exhausted.
"Alright, I understand," John responded before swimming through the space portal.
A flash of distorted green light later, John found himself in a new location. He had arrived at a space portal built on a shallow seabed, surrounded by crystal-clear water. Sunlight shone down from above, making the area feel bright and refreshing.
John immediately swam upward and surfaced.
As he did, he saw, for the first time, a massive and magnificent Pioneer cannon tower standing not far away!
"Whoa, so this portal directly leads to the area beneath the Pioneers' turret!"
"This must be the sea where the Sea Emperor Leviathan once lived. The Pioneers must have captured her and then built a fortress on this island!"
"But the developers really thought this through. Once you've cured the disease, you don't have to go back and forth to shut down the Pioneer tower."
"Yeah, smart design!"
The audience was full of admiration. Meanwhile, John glanced at the portal. Unfortunately, it was too small to allow a creature as massive as the Sea Emperor Leviathan to pass through.
Right now, the top priority was to collect the hatching enzymes. As analyzed earlier, the materials needed for the enzymes were common. It didn't take long for John to gather everything, and with the help of a 3D printer, he successfully created the hatching enzymes.
After collecting them, John returned to the Sea Emperor Incubation Center through the portal.
"Sea Emperor, I've made the hatching enzyme," John announced.
Hearing this, the Sea Emperor Leviathan, who had been lying still at the bottom of the pond, finally stirred.
She pressed her thick tentacle-like limbs against the pond floor, barely supporting her weight. Her gaze softened as she looked at John. "Thank you. The incubator was created by the Pioneers, so it should still function. You just need to inject the hatching enzyme into the machine."
Her voice was noticeably weaker than before.
"Alright," John responded. He followed the in-game prompts and injected the hatching enzyme into the incubator.
Then, just seconds after the injection, a miracle happened!
The six Sea Emperor eggs, which had been sitting motionless in the incubator for who knows how long, suddenly began to shake. Dust that had gathered over the years flaked off their surfaces.
Seeing this, the audience erupted in excitement:
"Whoa! John just injected the enzyme, and the baby Sea Emperors are already hatching?!"
"John's precision is top-notch—one shot, one miracle!"
"Uh… why does that sound weird?"
"I mean, technically, it was John's injection of the hatching enzyme that made the babies hatch, right?"
"True… but the way you said it, man…"
"Ahem, John is basically the godfather now!"
"Look! The baby Sea Emperors are coming out!!!"
