Chapter 234 - Chapter 234: Discussion Meeting!

Two days later.

The sun shone down upon the earth, casting its golden rays into every corner of the celestial domain. The warmth of daylight gradually stirred the once-cold atmosphere, chasing away the lingering chill of battle.

Inside a quiet room, Finn slowly opened his eyes. His gaze first met the familiar ceiling, then shifted to the sleeping witch beside him.

He sat up gradually, each movement deliberate, as if rediscovering the strength in his body. Drawing in a deep breath, he muttered, "Looks like that battle was more dangerous than I thought…"

His eyes wandered toward the window. The so-called lazy sunlight streamed through the glass, gently warming his still-recovering body.

Sensing his movement, the witch stirred. Her eyes fluttered open, soft and clear as they found his. "You're awake. I'll go get you some breakfast."

"No need right now, I'm not hungry yet."

Finn reached over and grabbed her hand firmly. "That battle turned out better than expected. I don't regret bringing you along, honestly. If I hadn't, things would've turned out a hell of a lot worse."

He looked at her face intently, as if engraving every detail.

"If you let me go next time, I can still help you, can't I?" she asked, matching his serious gaze with her own.

"No," Finn replied flatly, "it's different. That place was far too dangerous. Didn't you see how badly I was hurt?"

His tone shifted into mock irritation, trying to impress upon her just how perilous the mission had been. He needed her to understand.

The witch fell silent, thoughtful. She didn't argue. Truth be told, she was just relieved he'd made it back alive. That alone was enough to keep her from pressing the matter.

"By the way, how are Stephen and the others? Are they alright?"

Finn's tone shifted as concern crossed his features. The battle had ended with him making a hard call—staying behind to face the queen while ordering Stephen Strange and Bliss to retreat.

The truth was, both of them had already sustained severe injuries. They were barely conscious when he forced them to escape. Keeping them there would've only increased the risk. One way or another, they had to get out.

"They're fine," the witch replied. "After they came back, the Elder settled them down immediately. With a short recovery period and a steady infusion of magical energy, they're in stable condition now."

Finn gave a slow nod, processing the information. "That's good to hear. I'll need to speak to the Elder myself—there are things I need to explain."

His expression hardened slightly.

After what he had learned of the demon faction—their forces, the emergence of a fully restored Mephisto, and Mara, a threat capable of annihilating entire armies—he knew this wasn't something they could afford to ignore.

This wasn't over. Not by a long shot.

"I'll come with you," the witch said, already gathering her things.

Finn didn't object. After all, this wasn't another foray into the demon realm. There was no danger in having her accompany him.

Soon enough, led by the witch, the two of them arrived at the central hall.

Upon entering, they found the Elder Patriarch and several high-ranking mages already deep in discussion.

"Finn, you're finally awake. Are you alright?" The Patriarch face brightened with relief at the sight of him. The worry etched in his features began to melt away.

If anything had happened to Finn—especially after Stephen had summoned him—it would've haunted the Elder for the rest of his days.

Fortunately, things hadn't spiraled into the worst-case scenario.

"I'm fine for now," Finn said. "But what I'm about to tell you is extremely important."

There was no time for pleasantries. Not anymore.

He needed to make the situation clear before it spiraled further out of control.

The demon faction had amassed far more power than anticipated. Mephisto wasn't just lingering in shadows anymore—he had returned in full force. Mara had revealed strength that could shatter entire dimensions. If they attacked the angelic domains now, they'd be defenseless.

And to make matters worse, Finn himself wouldn't be able to intervene again any time soon. He had other responsibilities—magic to create, threats to prepare for. Within months, the mysterious figure he had been warned about would reemerge, and Finn needed to be ready for that confrontation.

If war came, the angel faction would be on their own.

He laid everything out—the intel he'd gathered, the confrontation with Mara, the state of Mephisto's recovery.

The room fell silent.

The Patriarch expression darkened as he processed the gravity of the situation. The demon faction wasn't just troublesome—they were apocalyptic. And Finn was right. He wouldn't always be able to help.

If the demons launched a full assault while he was away, the angels would be decimated.

"I understand," the Patriarch said at last. "Then I have one request—would the Dark Witch be willing to stay here for a while?"

He turned toward her, hope evident in his eyes.

Even if Finn couldn't remain, perhaps the Dark Witch, with her formidable powers, could offer some measure of protection.

Finn turned to her. "That's her choice, not mine."

The witch shook her head immediately. "I'd rather stay with Finn. I'm not going anywhere."

Her voice was calm but resolute. She had made up her mind. No matter the danger, she would remain at his side. Companion. Ally. Constant.

Even if Finn never returned her feelings, she would never abandon him.

The Elder sighed, nodding slowly. "I see. Well, I won't press the matter. You've done more than enough for us already. Thank you—truly. Without your help, we'd be ashes by now."

He straightened, gathering himself.

"Focus on your own preparations. The demon king and Mara are both dead, and Mephisto is gravely injured. I doubt they'll attempt another attack any time soon."

With that, Finn and the witch departed the hall, their steps echoing behind them.

There was still so much to do.

They couldn't stay here any longer.

Soon after, Stephen Strange also took his leave.

Though part of him wanted to remain and offer aid, he knew Finn was right. The true threat—the one beyond demons—was still coming. And it would take everything they had to stop it.

It was time to prepare.
