I was walking way out of the garden and I knew this place would be filled with warriors still I proceeded.
I just wanted to relieve some of the lovely memories I had but then felt it.
The weight of their stares crawled across my skin like cold fingers. Eyes. Everywhere. Whispered voices bleeding into one another.
"Who is she…?"
"Why is she here…?"
I could hear them asking… guessing… speculating. Some voices spoke with confusion, others with a hint of jealousy, or disdain. But then I caught fragments from those who remembered me, who recognized my face from long ago.
"She's the late Gamma's daughter… she used to live here…"
My breath hitched.
They still remember.
They still speak of him as if he had not vanished from this world suspiciously.
Weirdly I wanted to know what happened to his properties but I knew to do so then I needed to get closer to the guards.
Most of them had once served in our household. They would know more than they were allowed to speak.
