Chapter 145 - Chapter 145: The True Face of Dugu Yan

Chapter 145: The True Face of Dugu Yan

"What's wrong? Did my grandfather do anything to you?"

Seeing Dai Yao and Dugu Bo walking out from the pitch-black forest, Dugu Yan quickly ignored the figure of her grandfather ahead and joyfully walked up to Dai Yao. After giving him a quick glance from head to toe, she anxiously asked.

"Don't worry, your grandfather is fine," Dai Yao reassured her.

"Hmph—"

Dugu Yan snorted lightly, her emerald eyes shifting toward Dugu Bo behind them. She then grabbed Dai Yao's hand and led him deeper into the forest.

"Come with me, I have something to tell you."

Dai Yao helplessly followed her back into the woods.

Dugu Bo, watching the two of them walk away, let out a heavy sigh, feeling a sense of bitterness. His precious little cotton-padded jacket had been taken away!

In the forest, Dugu Yan turned around. The playful and charming young girl from earlier had disappeared, replaced by a seductive and mature woman.

Her eyes were like water, her red lips slightly parted as she slowly approached Dai Yao, her delicate fingers lifting his chin, closing the distance between them. With each step, she came closer, demanding, "Little man, tell me, what did my grandfather say to you?"

Looking at the enchanting Dugu Yan in front of him, Dai Yao felt his heart racing and swallowed.

Dugu Yan was nearly twenty now, a Soul Master of over level 40. Her slender, tall figure, with her long purple hair cascading over her shoulders, had matured into a tempting and alluring presence.

Although Dai Yao had some traditional notions of masculinity, he didn't mind Dugu Yan's behavior. In fact, it added a layer of excitement to their interaction.

Dugu Yan's hand, which had been gently holding his chin, now tugged at Dai Yao's collar, pulling him closer. Her flawless face was now inches away, and the faint fragrance of her breath swept over him. Dai Yao couldn't help but gulp nervously.

"Little man, what's wrong? Aren't you going to speak?" she asked again, her voice sweet and luring, as if trying to tease out the beast within him.

Taking a deep breath, Dai Yao responded, "Your grandfather said I can't touch you before we marry..."

He then went on to explain the three conditions Dugu Bo had set.

When Dugu Yan heard the second condition, her eyes widened in surprise. Upon hearing the third condition, she gasped in shock.

She continued to press against him, pushing him back until his back was against the trunk of a tree.

Seeing that Dai Yao could retreat no longer, Dugu Yan's lips curled into a seductive smile. She leaned in closer and asked softly, "So, did you agree?"

Dai Yao nodded seriously. "Of course I agreed. How could I not, for you?"

Upon hearing his response, Dugu Yan's face lit up with joy, but she soon returned to her seductive demeanor. "Grandfather's two conditions aren't simple. Aren't you going to reconsider?"

"No matter how hard it is, for you, I'd go through fire and water!" Dai Yao pretended to hesitate for a moment, but then, looking at her face, as if gathering the courage, he gave a firm response.

As a man who aspired to build a harem in the world of Douluo Continent, Dai Yao had certainly studied the ways of the heartless men. He knew that while Dugu Bo's conditions were not difficult for him, he couldn't reveal everything to Dugu Yan. He had to make himself seem slightly hesitant and uncertain, but still show the intensity of his emotions in the end. That way, he could win her heart.

As expected, Dugu Yan seemed to melt in his arms, leaning into him like soft spring water, her breath warm against his skin. Her emerald eyes were now filled with desire.

Without warning, her red lips pressed against his.

After a few moments, they pulled away, both of them struggling to catch their breath. A glistening string of saliva dropped to the ground.

Both of them were blushing deeply, indicating the passion that had just transpired.

Dugu Yan, panting lightly, her eyes filled with love, whispered, "With these words, that's enough."

"I'll tell you a secret."

"A secret?" Dai Yao asked, slightly confused.

Dugu Yan smiled lightly, leaned in close to his ear, sending a tingle down his spine: "Since I was little, I've never listened to my grandfather's words."

"You can just listen to what he says. He can't stop me. As long as you treat me sincerely, I will give you whatever you want."

Looking at Dugu Yan, who was now confessing her love so sincerely, Dai Yao was deeply moved. He couldn't help but murmur, "Yan'er..."

He hadn't expected the snake-like beauty, who was cold and calculating in the original story, to show such a passionate and intense side when she fell in love. It was like a volcano erupting.

"Women from the Douluo Continent are truly something else," Dai Yao thought. "Even the 'snake-scorpion beauty' Dugu Yan has such a tender side."

A few minutes later, after both of them had straightened their clothes and allowed the redness in their faces to subside, they emerged from the dark forest.

Seeing their expressions, Dugu Bo, who had seen countless things in his life, immediately understood what had happened. Realizing that Dugu Yan had completely ignored his previous advice, he almost choked on his own breath.

"Sigh, Yan'er, by doing this, you've let Dai Yao have you completely. If Dai Yao has a change of heart, it will only be you who gets hurt!" Dugu Bo thought, his heart aching like that of a concerned elder worried about his child's future.

He glared at Dai Yao a few times before turning away, muttering to himself, "Out of sight, out of mind," and then, with a cold hum, vanished into the dark night.

However, he didn't go far, knowing that there were still many soul beasts in the Sunset Forest, and it was dangerous for Dugu Yan and the others.

After Dugu Bo left, Dai Yao and Dugu Yan both let out a sigh of relief.

"Now, we just need to wait for Zhu Zhuqing to absorb her spirit ring."

"Looking at the fluctuations in her soul power, it's almost time."

Suddenly, Zhu Zhuqing opened her eyes sharply. Her originally dark pupils had turned a pale white, and an icy aura exploded from her body, instantly enveloping a 100-meter radius, as if the entire area had descended into the depths of hell.

As soon as Dai Yao and Dugu Yan felt the chilling air, they both felt as if their scalps were being pricked by needles, the sharp pain almost numbing their senses. Even their soul power seemed to slow down.

They exchanged surprised glances, both clearly startled.

"What is this?" Dugu Yan asked, bewildered.

Dai Yao had a vague idea, but the realization was so shocking that he hesitated to speak it out loud.

From within the forest, Dugu Bo, who had been lurking, immediately appeared before Dai Yao and, with his mouth slightly open, his green eyes filled with shock, exclaimed, "Is this... a domain?!"

The icy aura slowly contracted, and after a moment, it fully merged back into Zhu Zhuqing's body.

Zhu Zhuqing exhaled gently, the pale white in her eyes disappearing, and her dark, gem-like pupils returned.

"Zhuqing, what was that aura just now?" Dai Yao asked, walking up to her with curiosity.

Zhu Zhuqing smiled faintly, her previously cold demeanor now tinged with a bit more grace and nobility.

"Yao-ge, I awakened my innate domain, the Netherworld Domain!"
