Night fell over the city, with no electricity, it is mostly dark all around the down, candles and flashlights are being used to disperse a little bit of darkness. Allan was inside his room, laying down on the bed, but he couldn't fall asleep, feeling the weight of the unknown hovering around them like an enormous shadow. The world had changed, and now more than ever he felt the need for power.
His senses heightened by his talents, he could hear Ethan and Alice's breathing on the other room and their mother light steps downstairs as she moved around the house. Everyone was tired and the shock brought by this day events was still weighting over their minds, but the excitement brought up by the recently awakened talents was growing non-stop.
"This world his now a field of new opportunities, but also extreme danger."
Allan felt the need to act before the new forces of this world started to become extremely dangerous.
"I need to do a real test now."
With a careful movement, he got up and picked a dark blue jacket on top of the bed, with silent steps he walked out of the house through the back door.
The sky filled with stars while looking way less polluted, the cold air enveloped Allan as he walks towards the an isolated field of trees outside the courtyard. The trees were dense and lush, covering the neighborhood field of vision to what lies beyond the field, making it the perfect place for what he was about to do.
He was little nervous at the thought of using this power for the first time, but still, he knew this was a necessary action in order to survive.
Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath.
— "Avatar Creation"
A light tingling sensation ran across his body. The energy inside agitated and a purple light radiated from him while a figure took form in front of him.
Little by little, a body took shape becoming more solid and detailed, and then a young man with neat cut black hair and red eyes, dressed in what seemed to be a black battle suit materialized right in front of Allan. He looked at least 60 points similar to Allan, if anyone sees them together, it would possible mistake them as relatives.
The avatar eyes slowly opened, blinking a few times while he took consciousness of his own existence. He looked around and then at his own hands, flexing his hands and body as if to grow accustomed to his own body.
— "I... exist?" — His voice was strong but carrying a light hint of uncertainty.
Allan felt an immediate connection between them, an invisible but unbreakable bond.
— "Yes, I created you. You are my first Avatar."
The young avatar looked directly at Allan's brown eyes with a surprisingly intensity.
— "My name?"
Allan hesitated for a while. A name was not a simple and mere word, it is an identity, a destiny.
— "You shall be called...Kairo."
As soon as the name was given, the world will seemed to acknowledge this naming action and a purple energy started glowing from Kairo's body, it was like a ritual had been completed. This glow subsided after a minute.
Allan squinted his eyes, trying to look at his avatar, worrying it might be something bad. He opened his Omniscient Eyes and finally realized what was happening.
— "This...this is a blessing!"
In that moment, a new information surged inside his and Kairo's mind.
Congratulations to the individual Kairo for awakening a new talent:
• Combat Adaptation (B).
Allan rapidly analised this new talent.
Combat Adaptation (Rank B) – Allows the user to learn and rapidly ajust to different fighting styles and battle situations. The more time it takes battling an enemy or facing a certain battle situation the more efficient he becomes against it.
— "Not bad, it's not like my SSS rank talents, but it is useful."
Kairo, whom was still assimilating this new information looked at Allan with a determined gaze.
— "Now what? What am I supposed to do?"
Allan crossed his arms while thinking. He hadn't really thought about what he wanted his new avatar to do, it was just a test, but it turned out to be yield a really good outcome. He remembered that the news reporter said that the army was forming a group composed of civilian awakened that wanted to join them and become a branch of the army and country forces. He felt that Kairo would grow to become an excellent general with his talent and resources from the army. This would be the perfect opportunity.
— "Your mission is simple. I want you to join the army and the group of awakened created by the government. You have a simple objective: grow, become strong and rise in the ranks while exploring this world the best you can and consuming resources to become stronger. Other than that, you are free to do whatever you want to."
Kairo nodded with a serious expression.
— "Understood."
Allan felt the bond between them grow stronger. He could feel Kairo's emotions, even if it was in a subtle way. He also felt that he could know and see the exactly what he was doing as long as he willed to, no matter the distance. This meant that distance would not be a concern, even far away he will know what is happening with his avatar.
— "Take care and do not draw too much attention to yourself from the start. Head to the city tomorrow morning and find out how the government is recruiting new talents, collect as much information as you can without interfering with your main objective."
Kairo drew a light smile on his face.
— "Don't worry, I got this."
The avatar looked at his own dark suit and clenched his fists, feeling the energy flowing around his body. He did not have the same talents as Allan but still he had his knowledge and felt that this was more than enough to get by.
Since he was an avatar, it did not mean he had the same personality, his talents influenced him and made him a person who likes to have battles, so he look at his creator with fiery eyes.
— "I do have but one request, my lord."
Allan was slightly surprised by this development but still maintained his composure.
— "You're free to speak, you are a part of me after all!"
Kairo was happy with his creator's words.
— "I wish to have a sparring session with you, my lord."
...
The battle did not last long, and nobody knew the outcome but Allan and Kairo. But the craters and small tree barks around this place are a proof of the battle that occured here just a while ago.
With no more word, Kairo disappeared into the darkness of the night, moving swiftly with an astonishing speed.
Allan stood there watching his first creation disappear into the night. The battle made him understand what kind of power he possesses. The feeling of having another him, living a separate life is strange, but truly fascinating.
"Now I just need to wait and see where he can go."
He silently went back inside his house, closing the door without making any noise. Got into his room and he was finally able to sleep.
