Chapter 117: Green Baby
For the Fatherland!
Schutzstaffel's (Stroheim) "corpse" had been ordered by the mustached man to be studied. To prevent any interference from hostile forces, security at this military base was exceptionally tight.
But what did that matter when Chang Wei had the Ultimate Lifeform template now?
He didn't even need to split himself or find others to create Ultimate Lifeforms—his Stand could make them for him.
"Let's start with ten Ultimate Lifeforms. I want to see how long it takes for them to destroy a military base."
Chang Wei spoke calmly.
Made in China obeyed his command, and ten identical Wamuu clones appeared before him.
Even their memories had been perfectly copied, and at this moment, they all looked at Chang Wei with deep reverence.
"Lord Chang Wei."
Wamuu No.1 through No.10 spoke in unison.
"Enough. Kill everyone in the base."
Chang Wei ordered.
The ten Wamuu clones simultaneously activated Holy Sandstorm. Unlike Kars, who played with flashy techniques, Wamuu had always relied on wind-based abilities. Back in the Pillar Men era, Holy Sandstorm had been powerful but not overwhelming. Now, however, it had reached the level of a moving tornado, packing more destructive energy than a nuclear bomb.
"This might be too much."
Chang Wei watched as ten mobile tornadoes surged toward the base. Before they even got close, the entire base was uprooted, along with its soldiers, who screamed in agony as they were shredded into a bloody pulp by the violent winds.
When everything settled, Chang Wei scratched his head.
This wasn't what he wanted to see.
If he wanted this level of destruction, he might as well have used infrasound waves to kill them.
"I should just use vampires and Pillar Men instead."
Chang Wei recalled the ten Wamuu clones, as well as Schutzstaffel himself.
A massive amount of souls and life energy poured into his body. The minuscule amount of life energy was absorbed by an infinitesimal fraction of his cells, but that was it—nothing more.
As for the souls, Chang Wei tossed all of them into the River of the Dead, then sifted through their memories to pick out thirty-six souls steeped in extreme sin.
Without even awakening DIO's remains, he directly injected these thirty-six souls into them.
And so, the long observation began.
On the first day, nothing changed. To prevent DIO from reviving or any unexpected occurrences, the remains he kept were the toe bone from the original story. He wasn't sure which exact part of the toe it was, but that didn't really matter.
It wasn't until the tenth day that the toe bone finally showed signs of change.
Chang Wei immediately perked up.
He had no intention of staying in the JoJo world long enough to wait for future bug-tier Stands. Decades of waiting could mess with his sanity. So, his plan was simple: get every Stand he could at this stage, then leave this world. If he had a chance to return in the future, he could go for the rest.
Then again, by that time, he might not even need those broken Stands anymore.
Like Jonathan Joestar—Chang Wei had stabbed him just to see if he'd awaken a different Stand this time. But nope, it was still Hermit Purple.
That old fool was useless. Chang Wei had thought that his younger mindset might lead to a different Stand awakening, but it was exactly the same as before. No change. No hope.
A full month passed, and the toe bone successfully gave birth to a bizarre-looking green baby.
Beside it was an even stranger Stand.
This was Chang Wei's target.
And he had no intention of testing Green Baby's ability on himself.
"Za Warudo!"
Time stopped.
With complete safety ensured, Chang Wei casually walked up to the green baby.
"Rule-based abilities will never compare to time-based abilities. No wonder so many people love Time Stop."
He extended his hand and absorbed Green Baby.
And with it, he obtained its Stand—Green Homecoming.
"An ability that infinitely shrinks its target… and another one that enlarges them…"
Chang Wei was already thinking of some fun applications.
It was time to leave.
Though he still wanted Wonder of U, getting it was too difficult.
In the original timeline, Toru had been over seventy years old. Theoretically, that meant he should be around the same age as those other old fools right now. But tracking him down?
That was a different story.
Who knew if Toru had already awakened Wonder of U at this point?
So Chang Wei gave up.
---
Meanwhile, Speedwagon was on the verge of death.
Not from old age, but from the overwhelming stress he'd endured lately. His aging body couldn't handle it anymore, and he had fallen gravely ill.
Joseph Joestar was in tears.
Chang Wei had no idea how Joseph reacted to Speedwagon's death in the original story, but right now, he was witnessing it firsthand.
This scene of mortality stirred something in him.
Oh, not out of empathy—how could he feel empathy when he was already an immortal, indestructible being?
"Speedwagon, do you want to live?"
Chang Wei leaned against the wall, arms crossed, and asked.
"You can save my grandpa?"
Joseph's eyes lit up.
He had already learned everything from Speedwagon, fully aware of how terrifying Chang Wei was.
And thanks to Chang Wei, he had even obtained a unique power of his own—though Chang Wei had dismissed his Stand as completely useless.
But Joseph didn't see it that way.
Speedwagon, meanwhile, stared blankly at the ceiling. His consciousness was already fading, unable to register Chang Wei's words.
"He's already slipping away…"
Chang Wei shook his head and stepped forward.
In truth, he hadn't needed to ask Speedwagon for permission.
He did whatever he wanted.
What Speedwagon chose to do with this new power—whether he used it to protect Joseph or threw it away—was none of Chang Wei's concern.
Unless it was something particularly interesting, he never cared what happened to the things he bestowed upon others.
His fingers pierced into Speedwagon's brain.
"Grandpa!"
Joseph was panicked but didn't dare protest.
After all, Der Vaterland Stroheim had been annihilated by this man.
Every single person in the organization was dead.
Rumor had it that this demon had even gone to Japan afterward.
What happened there was still unknown, since Speedwagon had been rushed into emergency care shortly after.
Speedwagon's eyes suddenly widened.
His vision refocused.
And the first thing he saw was Chang Wei, with fingers still lodged in his skull.
But a moment later, Chang Wei withdrew his hand.
"You're now a Perfect Being, Speedwagon."
Chang Wei turned his back to him.
"A… Perfect Being?"
Speedwagon had never felt better.
Even in his youth, he hadn't experienced such vitality.
Not only had his body been restored to its prime, but it was also overflowing with strength.
"I'm young again?! Does that mean I can't call you 'grandpa' anymore?"
Joseph was ecstatic.
