Layla's hands trembled when she brought the bottle close to her mouth. Her lips were about to make contact with the edge of the bottle when suddenly, the echoes of Evander's and Viviene's voices played in her mind.
Shooting her eyes open, she threw away the bottle from her hold. The little clinking sound it made as the yellow poison spread over the floor. David, who had been smirking all this time, turned serious seeing her action.
"HOW DARE YOU?" he asserted. Layla flinched when he closed the gap further. She tried to get away when two of his men pinned her hands against the wall behind, making her struggles pointless.
"Ahh…" David caught her by the neck, the back of her head hit hard against the wall. She looked at him with pleading eyes… now, since the reality dawned upon her, she just realized she had got two lives dependent on her, and she couldn't even imagine if something happens to them.
