The rich aroma of baking soda wafted across the house, lighting Layla's mood when she had just returned after visiting the Sunday market bustling with crowds. Stepping out of her shoes, she washed her hands before peeking inside the kitchen to notice Agnes's uncle making muffins.
"Layla… welcome back…" Taking the shopping bag filled with groceries, Agnes's uncle asked her to come fast after visiting her kids. She nodded her head and went up the stairs.
A year had almost passed, and Layla sighed to notice them still asleep. Soon enough, a smile played across her lips, noticing the funny scene. Taking controlled steps so as to not disturb them, she took out her phone and captured a snap.
