Michael's private jet touched down at the airport. Rozenville City was bustling with pedestrians walking along the sidewalk, some desperate to catch the last-minute bus, expensive cars moving smoothly in the streets, the rustle of leaves stirred by the summer winds; everything seemed so normal—but it wasn't.
Two black, sleek sedans were awaiting them. Michael and Layla entered one of the cars. Soon, Frank and Anna, accompanied by Komachi and Mona, entered the other car. Mona's expression turned grim, sheer evidence of the utter storm brewing in her chest. She couldn't wait to meet her son; however, she knew better than to be impatient.
"Mi-Michael!" Nana embraced him tightly, her hands trembling with emotion. By virtue of Frank, she had heard everything.
"I'm fine, Nana," Michael stated, removing himself from the hug while his eyes scanned her from head to toe to check if she was fine enough.
"You've lost some weight," Michael stated with conviction, holding her by the shoulder.
