Chapter 244: The Leeks Known as Mangekyo Sharingan
Asura's Chakra optimized her body, while Indra's Chakra optimized her eyes. This postnatal optimization process would gradually bring Ino closer to the life form of the Ōtsutsuki clan.
She didn't know about other worlds, but in this world, the Ōtsutsuki clan's bloodline was inherently superior to humans. To reach greater heights, one had to leverage the Ōtsutsuki clan's bloodline.
Ino placed the Mangekyo Sharingan against her eyeball, slowly absorbing its visual prowess using Yin Release. After about three minutes of absorption, she stopped and looked in the mirror. The person staring back was no different from before. This genetic optimization, it seemed, would be a relatively long process.
She picked up the Mangekyo Sharingan and examined it closely. Having been drained of its pure visual prowess, the eye now appeared dim and lifeless, grey and murky, just a step away from complete blindness. If she were to transplant the eye into herself, she could gradually restore the eye's visual prowess using her own spiritual energy.
Ino had no intention of doing that, nor did she plan to let Karin, Naruto, or anyone else 'recharge' this eye with their bodies. She wasn't about to let such a dangerous ocular jutsu as Kotoamatsukami reappear in the world. She had a better way to restore its visual prowess.
Poof! A sealing scroll opened, and Kimimaro's corpse appeared before her.
The Kaguya clan, like the Hyuga, Uchiha, Uzumaki, and Senju, were descendants of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. Kimimaro, a descendant, had developed a bloodline disease early on. According to Ino's research, this was because he was too exceptional; the Ōtsutsuki clan's cells acted like a potent poison, eroding the human part of his cells, eventually leading to physical collapse and an untimely death. Kimimaro possessed Ōtsutsuki clan cells, though slightly less potent than the Senju clan's, but his corpse could definitely be used to 'recharge' the Mangekyo Sharingan.
Ino's current cells could essentially be considered those of the Senju clan; the plants she cultivated using her own cells had incredibly strong vitality. The process that followed involved the plant providing vitality to the corpse, the corpse transferring vitality to the Mangekyo Sharingan to convert it into visual prowess, and Ino, using the Mangekyo Sharingan as a high-efficiency energy converter, would harvest the visual prowess on schedule. Finally, she would convert the visual prowess into Indra's Chakra to perform higher-level optimization and modification on her own ocular organs.
Others acquired the eyes first, then gained visual prowess. She was accumulating visual prowess, storing it until she reached a limit before 'opening' her eyes. This path was quite similar to Toneri Ōtsutsuki's.
Using Kimimaro's corpse and the Mangekyo Sharingan for energy purification and conversion would surely result in significant energy loss along the way. But that didn't matter. The plants she cultivated using her own cells could extract chakra from deep within the earth. If the Divine Tree could grow, what was wrong with her 'plucking a little wool' and creating an 'eye creature'? Nothing wrong at all!
Transplanting eyes into a living person required considerable medical skill. Transplanting eyes into a corpse had no such requirements. The Sharingan was a special organ that existed independently of an individual, possessing 'plug-and-play' functionality. Ino performed a small surgery and transplanted the eye into Kimimaro.
Afterward, the Great King Flower swallowed the corpse, its roots piercing into the earth, constantly transporting vitality to the corpse to generate visual prowess, waiting for Ino's next harvest.
Ino returned to the Land of Wheat. Naruto was still diligently practicing the Giant Rasengan. She dispelled her Shadow Clone and gained its memories. Things had been calm and peaceful here; nothing had happened. For the next couple of days, she continued chatting idly with Princess Fuku. No one knew that she had been traveling back and forth between Konoha and the Land of Earth, causing quite a stir.
Two more days passed. The Third Tsuchikage of Iwagakure believed Danzo had come all the way just to bully his granddaughter. Danzo, on the other hand, believed the Third Tsuchikage had secretly colluded with the Akatsuki and Itachi Uchiha in a conspiracy to steal his Mangekyo Sharingan. Both sides mutually blamed each other, and Ino, in turn, gained six points of blame – her largest single harvest yet.
Following her previous plan, she used four points of blame to level up Earth Style to Lv5. With Earth Style maxed out, she began learning Deidara's Explosion Clay. Naruto didn't react much to her playing with mud. Princess Fuku found it amusing and even joined Ino in playing with mud for a day.
Deidara had written many insights and experiences about Explosion Clay, and all of this knowledge now belonged to Ino. That young man, who believed clay was more enjoyable than black soil, had truly poured his heart and soul into his "toys." For the C0 technique, which countless netizens jokingly called "Pat Star," he had written thousands of characters detailing his concepts, designs, and aspirations. Ino wasn't as insane as him and had no intention of self-destructing, but she had to admit that this 'explode, explode, explode' approach aligned perfectly with her inclinations.
Her Steam Impale Explosive Might was a large bomb, and her Spiral Wheel Mark also had explosive effects. Now, she had added Explosion Clay... The foundation of Steam Impale Explosive Might was Water Style, and the core of Explosion Clay was Earth Style. Water Style plus Earth Style—wasn't that Wood Style? Wood Style Chakra had the strongest compatibility. If she were to add Yin Release and Yang Release, and a plump Ino as large as Pat Star rushed over, followed by the collision of Yin and Yang... Boom! Wouldn't that instantly kill tens of thousands of enemies?
She felt this idea had great potential. When she created it, she would show Deidara! Your explosion? Not good. My explosion? Excellent!
Ino spent the next few days in a cycle of shaping clay, injecting Earth Style Chakra, and triggering explosions. Explosion Clay was incredibly difficult to learn. Fortunately, her foundation was solid, and she had Deidara's experience. After nine days, she finally succeeded in detonating clay infused with her own Earth Style Chakra from an extremely long distance.
Using the last bit of time on her mission, she changed into Deidara's attire in the middle of the night, then molded a giant clay bird and quietly left the Land of Wheat. In the current environment, good people were hard to find, but bad people were a dime a dozen. Of course, ninjas weren't particularly good people either; the ninja profession caused the most destruction to social order.
Ino wasn't studying sociology, and she didn't care about such things. The clay giant bird flew very fast. Unlike flying using the Spirilization Jutsu, going for a ride in the middle of the night was truly cold... She flew to the Land of Iron, occupied by samurai, and conducted a rough investigation. She quickly found a wealthy merchant who was unkind and unrighteous and a temple that was said to have strong connections with the Daimyo of the Land of Iron.
She went to their doorstep, took all their gold and treasures, distributed the grain to the local people, burned all the land deeds, then tied clay bombs to these unkind merchants and loan-sharking monks, shouted "Katsu!" and sent them to the Pure Land (Underworld).
The first time she detonated, she didn't control the chakra amount well, resulting in excessive explosive power. The merchant's house was blown to smithereens, and the raging fire burned for a whole day before being extinguished. Afraid the common folk wouldn't know who should take the blame for this, she even publicly shouted the famous line, "Art is an Explosion!"
