A pitch-black light soared into the sky, and the terrifying aura swept across nearly the entire Demon Plane.
"The Demon God's seal has been broken."
"The Lord of the Plane really was killed by the Demon God."
Sensing the death of the Lord of the Plane, Blood Fiend Demon Lord immediately led his subordinates toward Alba's territory to figure out what had happened. But halfway there, several Demon Lords saw the black pillar of light shooting into the sky.
The Fallen Angel was the previous Lord of the Demon Plane — a Demon God of the Demon Plane.
None of the Demon Lords could possibly mistake her aura.
"The Lord of the Plane is dead, Lord Blood Fiend Demon Lord. What do we do now?" All eyes turned to the Blood Fiend Demon Lord.
At this moment, fear and horror filled the eyes of all the Demon Lords, including the Blood Fiend himself.
The Blood Fiend Demon Lord had been cultivated by the Lord of the Plane — he was essentially his spokesperson.
Some of the other Demon Lords had once followed Alba and worshiped the Fallen Angel. Later, believing the Angel God to be without hope, they defected to Blood Fiend's side. Others were cultivated by Blood Fiend after he pillaged other planes.
Over the years, they had followed Blood Fiend in crusades against the so-called Demon God — the Fallen Angel.
Now, with the Lord of the Plane dead and the Fallen Angel breaking free from her seal, neither Alba nor the Demon God would spare them.
"Run. Use the Demon Gates to escape to other planes. Then destroy the Demon Gates. That's our only hope of survival," Blood Fiend ordered decisively. As the Lord's spokesperson, he knew all too well how terrifying the Fallen Angel was.
Even while she was sealed, the Lord of the Plane didn't dare truly offend her — that alone spoke volumes about her power.
Now that she was free and had slain the Lord of the Plane, if she wanted to kill the rest of them, it would be like squashing ants.
"We never should've given Alba the spatial coordinates of that higher plane. He must've found a way to break the Demon God's seal there. We were planning to use that plane against him... but now..."Blood Fiend had no time to dwell on it. His body turned into a streak of blood light, rushing toward the nearest Demon Gate. To save time, he even used the forbidden Blood Escape Technique.
As a pseudo-god level cultivator using Blood Escape, his speed was extreme. In just moments, he arrived before a Demon Gate.
This Demon Gate led to a lower plane and had existed for a long time, since the Demon Plane had no fear of retaliation.
Without hesitation, Blood Fiend rushed in.
Just as half of his body had crossed into the other plane, and before he could even breathe a sigh of relief, a cold voice echoed from behind:
"Are you coming back on your own, or should I leave the rest of your body behind?"
The chilling voice froze Blood Fiend on the spot.
In the next moment, he grabbed the gate's frame on both sides and leapt with all his might, trying to fully escape the Demon Plane.
Squelch! A black sword light slashed down along the other side of the Demon Gate.
"Aaaah!" Blood Fiend let out a miserable scream. His hands and upper body flew through the gate, rolling a few times on the ground before going limp, lifeless.
His lower half remained in the Demon Plane.
"Am I really that scary?" the Fallen Angel murmured, flicking her hand as the blood on her dark longsword was shaken clean.
"Your Grace, what should we do next?" the Fallen Angel asked Leng Yaozhu.
"Will you stay in the Demon Plane, or return to the Douluo Plane with me?" Leng Yaozhu asked.
"I want to go back to the Douluo Plane, to see the descendants of the Angel God. I suppose they can be considered my descendants too," the Fallen Angel said with a soft sigh.
"Alright," Leng Yaozhu didn't object. She turned to Leng Yulai and asked, "Who do you think should oversee the Demon Plane now?"
Leng Yulai thought for a moment and said, "Let's have Dark Bell Natali take over. She has decent talent and could potentially become the Lord of the Plane."
"That works," Leng Yaozhu nodded. "In that case, let's return to the Douluo Plane first. We'll find Yali and have her go to the Tianxuan Continent. Once she's there, the demons can slowly withdraw. From the other continents the soul beasts occupy, the demons should also retreat."
Tianxuan Continent was the mid-level plane split from the Douluo Plane.
Leng Yaozhu had no intention of letting demons wreak havoc while she played the savior to harvest faith power.
But since demons had already invaded those planes, it would work if Yali helped the locals "defeat" them.
Leng Yaozhu had checked — those planes mostly had faith in Tang San, either as the Asura God or the Sea God.
All Tang San.
Which made sense — by divine realm standards, Tang San had only been a god for a few decades. Without enough faith to empower him, even if his Xuan Tian Art reigned supreme, it wouldn't be easy for him to suppress the God of Destruction, one of the realm's founders.
If Leng Yaozhu simply ordered the demons to retreat, the locals might mistakenly believe Tang San had driven them off.
That would be a free win for Tang San.
After everything that had happened, Tang San's faith in the Douluo Plane was already pitifully low.
Leng Yaozhu wouldn't let other planes continue to believe in him.
Diverting that faith to Yali was the perfect solution.
Yali wanted a peaceful life — to become a hands-off leader like Xia Yi?
Leng Yaozhu would never agree.
Now that the soul beasts were strong and humans were weak, Yali had both the ability and the potential to become a god — Leng Yaozhu would make sure she stepped up.
They were sisters — so why should she do all the hard work while Yali stayed home flirting with her man?
No way.
As for the Demon Plane, Leng Yaozhu wasn't planning on wiping out the demons entirely.
She wanted to wait. If, in the future, the Douluo Plane lacked the strength to ascend to the Divine Realm, she could extract the Demon Plane's source power to help.
If the Douluo Plane didn't need it to ascend, she would keep the Demon Plane and turn it into a training ground — a place like the Spirit Ascension Platform.
Ever since the soul beasts took back the spirit souls converted from trapped beast souls, the Spirit Ascension Platform had declined significantly.
The Demon Plane was the perfect replacement.
And compared to the Spirit Ascension Platform, the Demon Plane had one advantage:
In a way, demons couldn't truly die. If a demon died, another demon could absorb their life energy and split into a new one.
With enough life energy, they could rapidly grow and multiply.
Leng Yaozhu planned to transform the Demon Plane so that, like the Spirit Ascension Platform, killing demons would grant life energy to improve soul rings and soul spirits.
But this time, she wouldn't provide safety devices to soul masters entering the Demon Plane.
Leng Yaozhu was thinking long-term.
First, only real life-and-death trials could truly unlock a soul master's potential.
If you're afraid of dying, don't come.
Second, this would ensure the Demon Plane wasn't depleted too quickly.
Third, it would give ordinary soul masters more opportunity.
Sure, it came with risk — but that was still better than the Spirit Ascension Platform system under the Spirit Transmission Tower.
If power could be bought with money, then ordinary soul masters would never outcompete the noble ones.
The Spirit Ascension Platform's no-death policy meant tickets were monopolized by major powers, with barely any left for ordinary soul masters.
But the Demon Plane? You had to bet your life.
If powerful factions wanted the tickets, they'd better prepare for high casualties.
Leng Yaozhu believed this would allow more tickets to reach ordinary soul masters and prevent insane price inflation.
Of course, she wouldn't just let them die — once the Demon Plane opened and Nanali became its Lord, Leng Yaozhu would instruct her to restrict high-level demons (above Titled Douluo) from attacking those below Titled Douluo.
