Chapter 573 - Chapter 573: Demon Legion

When the Demonic Gate first appeared, it was over three meters tall. As it gradually solidified, it began to slowly expand, and in the blink of an eye, it transformed into a massive gate over twenty meters high and fifteen meters wide.

The surrounding space twisted violently—clearly, it was the planar laws repelling the power from another world. However, this repulsion was entirely counteracted by the continuous surge of purple light emanating from around the Demonic Gate.

Yuanen Yehui retreated to the side of the gate, chanting continuously. The purple-black light surrounding her grew even more intense, and her cultivation seemed to be increasing madly.

Around the Demonic Gate, circles of halos emerged, followed by a deep, magically charged voice that echoed forth:

"My kin, my emissary, you have done well. You have opened the passage to the demon world and will lead your race into this new world. Let us fall together, be free together, destroy together! Go forth, Demon Legion!"

"As your monarch, I bestow upon you the royal Purple-Gold Bloodline in recognition of your service. A portion of all the life force devoured shall be yours. Once we conquer this world, you shall be my king here in my stead."

"ROAR!" As the rich purple-gold light surged into Yuanen Yehui's body, she let out a howl toward the sky. Her body began to swell and instantly transformed into a massive demon ten meters tall, though with the exact same form as her original self.

The wings behind her now bore shimmering purple-gold scales, showcasing a noble and extraordinary demonic bloodline.

The purple-gold brilliance on Yuanen Yehui's body intensified. Streams of purple-gold light continued pouring out of the Demonic Gate and into her, dramatically boosting her aura.

Her eyes turned purple-gold. With a wave of her hands, the Demonic Gate flared with light and suddenly shimmered, splitting outward to form two more Demonic Gates on either side.

With wings flapping, Yuanen Yehui hovered midair. As more and more purple-gold energy poured into her, she expanded the Demonic Gates further. Each expansion weakened the glow on her body slightly.

It was clear that the purple-gold energy wasn't just strengthening her—it was also being used to create more Demonic Gates.

The expansion only ceased once nine Demonic Gates had formed. Deep, thunderous roars echoed from within them.

"Descend upon this world, my Demon Legion."

The first to charge out of the gates were massive, lion-sized Hellhounds, each one grotesque and terrifying. Their heads were disproportionately large, with jaws filled with blade-like teeth glinting with a chilling light, as if they could bite the world apart.

From the nine gates, thousands of hellhounds surged forth in moments. Behind them followed demonic warriors—though they walked upright like humans, each had four arms and stood about 2.5 meters tall. Their muscular bodies were covered in scales and dark purple-black skin. Some had one eye, others two. They marched in formation from the gates.

Following the demon warriors came the Sky Fiends, monsters with human-like bodies but with wings three times the size of their torsos. Sky Fiends were elite aerial troops of the demon realm, known for their extreme speed, teamwork, and corrosive venom breath.

In just a short time, thousands of Sky Fiends emerged. The demon legion had grown to over ten thousand.

At this point, the nine Demonic Gates began to flicker and grow unstable.

The Demonic Gates, connected to another plane, were naturally repelled by the rules of this one. In Sky City, Xia Yi could weaken that repulsion—but to avoid alerting the demon realm, Xia Yi had only partially suppressed the plane's rejection, not fully.

Just then, nine massive figures appeared within the gates. As soon as they emerged, they braced the gates with their powerful arms, radiating brilliant purple-gold light that stabilized the Demonic Gates.

They bore a resemblance to Yuanen Yehui's demon form—these were the true elites of the demon realm: Archdemons.

Each stood over ten meters tall, with vast wings, curled horns atop their heads, and terrifying appearances brimming with dark energy.

With the gates stabilized, more demons poured forth—small, snow-white Lesser Demons, who looked weak but were powerful spellcasters of the demon world. They wielded dark energy to unleash devastating curses and negative spells.

Then came Nightmare Ramhorn Demons, towering, fire-wreathed demonic beasts shaped like black goats. Lesser Demons leapt onto their backs.

These rams were swift and packed a fiery punch. The pairing offset the Lesser Demons' weakness in speed and defense, greatly enhancing their power.

By now, the Demon Legion was largely complete—yet more demons still flooded out. The gates grew ever more translucent, and even the nine Archdemons were beginning to falter in maintaining them.

At that moment, a thunderous roar shook the world as the nine Demonic Gates suddenly fused into one gigantic gate. From this portal crawled a massive and terrifying presence.

This figure stood over thirty meters tall, his body covered in shimmering purple-gold scales. Two massive horns, each three meters long, curved atop his head. Despite the demonic features, his face bore an almost human resemblance. A pair of colossal wings formed from purple flames unfurled from his back, and in his hand, he held a giant purple-gold flaming sword.

The moment he emerged, the very fabric of space twisted violently under the strain of the plane's rejection.

"ROAR——" With a wild, sky-splitting roar, the massive demon let out a maniacal laugh:

"I, Demon Monarch Alba, have finally arrived in this world teeming with life! My children, let us kill, devour, and grow stronger! The more living beings you consume, the more powerful you'll become. Once you've evolved enough, we shall open even more Demonic Gates, bring forth more legions, and make this world tremble and fall before us!"

"ROAAAR!!" The over 30,000 demons let out a unified war cry, their dark energy blotting out the sky, dyeing the land beneath in purple-black.

"…Huh? Why hasn't the Demonic Gate shattered?" Demon Monarch Alba suddenly turned to look at the still-glowing portal behind him, confused.

Normally, only a limited number of demons could pass through a gate—the stronger the demon, the fewer could cross.

A being like Alba crossing should've caused the gate to collapse.

After all, once demons finished plundering life energy, they'd need to reopen the gate to return home.

"The planar laws seem… off?" Alba narrowed his eyes in confusion and began to sense his surroundings. A moment later, his expression turned to delight.

"This plane has become stronger, its energy denser. Could it be that the entire realm has advanced, making space more stable and the gate more durable? That would let more demons pass through! Not only can we devour more life force, but returning will also cost us less energy!"

"Demon Legion, ATTACK!"

Alba bellowed skyward. A monarch wasn't a fool—he knew they had to act fast.

Though Douluo Plane had grown stronger, and that meant more to consume, it also meant more strong defenders.

They had to strike fast and retreat quickly—devour enough life energy and escape before reinforcements arrived.

"KILL!" Alba's command was met with a thunderous roar. The tens of thousands of demons surged outward like a tidal wave.

They weren't here to fight a war—they were here to raid and plunder. Grab what they could and flee. Speed was everything.
