"Ms. Chantelle, Mr. Bently said he'll only sign the agreement if you meet him in person. He also said you'll never learn the truth about your mother's death unless you meet him," Calvin said as he handed her the Bently Corporation acquisition contract.
A lot had happened in the past few days, and Chantelle hadn't had time to deal with Roman. However, Roman thought she was ignoring him on purpose and had been calling Calvin nonstop.
"The cause of my mother's death?" Chantelle stood up and her face turned cold. All this time, she believed Ruby was her real mother, but now she wasn't so sure.
Then who was her real mother?
She had once hired a private detective to look into Roman's ex-wife. But there was nothing. No records. Not even a photo.
"I think Mr. Bently knows something that hasn't been revealed," Calvin said.
When Roman talked to Calvin on the phone, he kept stuttering. Calvin tried to get answers, but Roman refused to say anything. He sounded cautious, and even afraid.
