I felt someone shake my shoulder; the vortex had already spat me out—back into my body.
I checked the table; it had turned back to its uncarved side, with the golden coin on top of it. I tried to flip it just in case, but it wouldn't move.
Figured. Parts of my ability apparently had some fucked-up cooldown phases that worked without any real rules.
"Hm?" I felt so dizzy that I couldn't do anything as I leaned against the wall of the cave, feeling the little crystals against my back.
"What are you doing?" It was Henry's voice, but it was somber enough for anyone to recognize it as the commander's.
"Meditating." I said, finally opening my eyes to look at the commander crouched down in front of me.
"What did you mean just now? Do you know of a way out from here?"
"Nope." Apparently, not a way out—just a way to visit unruly puppies.
I hadn't asked Henry if he was alright, which was bugging me now.
I bent to my side and vomited blood, trying not to sully the commander.
