Fushimi Roku stared at the card in his hand, lost in thought.
After Minamoto Tamako and the others disappeared, he didn't call the number on the Black Card right away but tried to contact Kujo Yua, who coincidentally was out on fieldwork, with no set return time.
Roku initially intended to report the case and use the Police Department's strength to find them, but before he stepped into the police station, he received an anonymous warning call, saying not to contact the police, or Minamoto Tamako and others' safety couldn't be assured.
"They are waiting for you in the New World."
With those words, the caller hung up.
Roku stood in silence for a long while, choosing not to call back immediately but rather heading to a convenience store to buy a pack of cigarettes.
Breaking his no-smoking rule, he stood on the streets of Sugamo, taking a deep drag of the cigarette.
Subsequently, Roku made several calls to Sazaki Gen and others.
