Lysandre stood in the ruins of the once-bustling town, his gaze sweeping over the crumbling structures and the cracked streets. The air was thick with dust, and the remnants of what had once been a thriving settlement now lay in desolation. His footsteps echoed faintly as he moved toward the center of the town, where a towering obelisk-like structure loomed over the wreckage.
He stopped before the massive stone pillar, his expression unreadable as he studied its weathered surface. The weight of history pressed down on him, the knowledge of what this structure represented settling heavily in his mind.
"This is what you sought to uncover," Aoki said, his voice calm but carrying an undeniable gravity. "The ultimate weapon of ancient times."
Lysandre's breath hitched slightly at the words. "Ultimate weapon…" he murmured, his voice tinged with disbelief.
The stone pillar before them was no ordinary monument—it was the creation of a legendary king from three thousand years ago, a device of unimaginable power. Originally forged to save a cherished companion, a Floette, it had instead been twisted into a tool of destruction. The king, consumed by grief and misunderstanding, had turned the weapon against the world, believing his friend to be the cause of its suffering.
Only when the Floette departed did clarity return to him, but the damage had already been done.
This king was none other than AZ, the ancient ruler of the Kalos region.
Aoki's dream world was not a mere recreation of the past but a reflection of the present, built upon the vast knowledge stored within his system. The maps and records of the Pokémon world allowed him to construct this vision with chilling accuracy. Having lived through lifetimes marked by war and devastation, Aoki understood the horrors of conflict all too well.
"This is the result of self-purification," Aoki continued, stepping closer to Lysandre. "Not only did others perish, but you, too, failed to endure."
Lysandre's hands clenched at his sides, his mind still reeling from the devastation around him. "Then… what should be done?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Before Aoki could respond, a deafening roar split the sky.
A massive shadow passed overhead, its six spectral wings trailing ribbons of crimson. Its gray, draconic form twisted through the air, leaving behind a jagged rift in the sky. Through the tear, an even more horrifying sight was revealed—a world reduced to utter ruin, a wasteland beyond salvation.
The creature responsible was Giratina, the Renegade Pokémon, in its Origin Forme.
Lysandre's breath caught in his throat. He recognized the beast, knew the implications of its presence. Giratina's arrival meant this fractured world would be absorbed into its domain, another forgotten fragment of destruction.
"The downfall of this world wasn't caused by a single act," Aoki explained, his gaze fixed on the sky. "It was the collective abandonment of morality, the willingness to sacrifice everything for selfish gain. In the end, weapons and power were merely tools in their hands."
As Giratina vanished into the distance, the ground beneath them trembled violently. Deep fissures split the earth, and from within emerged grotesque, dark-red vines, writhing like the roots of some monstrous plant. They coiled around the last standing structures, strangling the remnants of life. A withered tree, its bark already crumbling, was ensnared by the vines, decaying before their eyes.
A mechanical whirring filled the air, growing louder with each passing second.
From the horizon emerged a serpentine figure, its body segmented like a cobra's. Its eyes were clusters of hexagonal red crystals, resembling the compound eyes of an insect. A black, frilled crest adorned its head, and its tail split into five distinct points, glowing an ominous green.
"Zygarde?" Lysandre gasped, his shock evident.
Aoki raised an eyebrow, mildly surprised that Lysandre recognized the Order Pokémon. But it mattered little—he didn't need to explain further.
"Yes," Aoki confirmed. "The guardian of Kalos, the one who maintains balance. Zygarde is said to appear when the ecosystem faces irreversible damage. But what if the world is beyond saving?"
Before he could finish, Zygarde let out a piercing roar, its form shifting rapidly. Its body reconfigured, expanding into its Complete Forme—a towering entity said to rival even Xerneas and Yveltal in power.
Yet something was wrong.
Zygarde's movements were erratic, its energy unstable. And behind it, another figure descended from the darkened sky—a massive, avian shape forming a stark "Y" against the clouds.
Yveltal, the Destruction Pokémon.
A beam of crimson energy erupted from the marking on its chest, petrifying everything in its path. Below it, lying motionless on the ravaged earth, was Xerneas, the Life Pokémon—its radiant antlers dim, its body lifeless.
The embodiment of life itself had fallen.
The world was unraveling.
Lysandre stood frozen, his mind struggling to process the devastation unfolding before him. The sight of Zygarde, Yveltal, and the fallen Xerneas struck at the core of his beliefs.
And then, the earth shook once more.
A hill surged upward, rock and soil giving way as it swelled into a mountain—then a volcano. Molten rock spewed from its peak, and from the inferno emerged a colossal, crimson beast.
Groudon, in its Primal Forme.
Its roar shook the heavens, and rivers of lava surged across the land, consuming all in their path.
Far off, on the distant coast, another titan rose—Kyogre, its Primal Forme summoning tidal waves that swallowed entire landscapes.
The legendary Pokémon had all appeared, as if heralding the world's final moments.
"Yveltal… Groudon… Kyogre… Giratina…" Lysandre muttered, his legs giving way as he collapsed to his knees. "They're all here…"
Aoki's dream was terrifyingly vivid. No ordinary mind could conjure such a detailed apocalypse, let alone the likenesses of these mythical beings. But Aoki had seen them—if not in this world, then in another.
This was a world where legendaries ran rampant.
A world on the brink of annihilation.
The end of all things.
