We found the room after a few hours as I embarrassingly had no clue where I was going, as there weren't any maps of the place. Nevertheless, Kai did not forget to make fun of me for it when I had talked such a big game.
It was almost as big as a movie theater and looked like one too—there were around 500 seats and seemed more like a place where people would get ready to watch and enjoy a movie in…..not witness gruesome deaths.
There was a large control panel right in front of the screen which wasn't even comparable in size to the screen Giovanni had been on—though large in it's on right.
Luckily all the buttons were labeled so that anyone could easily operate it. I at first decided to mute the sound as I knew it would affect us more than we needed—before hitting the big red button to turn it on.
We took front row seats and prepared for the onslaught that was about to occur.
It was not even close to what I imagined.
It was so much worse.
There were mutilated bodies lying on floor and massive explosions going in the background. A gruesome scene of a raticate biting the head of a person around 16 was presented and was a moment that would likely scar me for the rest of my life.
However, a few people floated in the air and were throwing projectiles made of some weird energy at the wild Pokemon—who I assumed to be psychics.
There were many specially crafted teams of certain types to specifically counter the beedrils, butterfree, pikachu and a few other species that belonged to viridian forest and the route the HQ of the Pokemon league.
Though they were common Pokemon they had a massive number and there were some particularly strong looking Pokemon like what I assumed to be a Heavenly ranked tentacruel and gyarados due to their immense size fighting Giovanni.
He had around 8 Pokemon like Ryperior,Golem and even Machamp and despite his Pokemon having a type disadvantage they seemed to over whelming the 2 Pokemon due to their superior numbers.
We also got to see the mercenary squad in action as they were easily distinguished from the others by their uniform and they seemed to have a much better time than the rest of the trainers.
Honestly, there was so much going on that I felt my brain was going to implode from sensory overload.
The lifeless bodies and mass destruction around had caught up to me and made me throw up on the floor.
While I was hacking and coughing, I looked in Kai's direction and he didn't seem to be doing too good either—heck he looked worse.
He had tears running down his cheeks and his grey eyes seemed to grow red due to tears. His knees were week and he was also trembling all over.
After I got over my internal conflict and realized that the idiot was to stubborn to admit there was something wrong with him so I dashed towards the control panel and quickly switched it off before anything worse occurs.
After I had done so I leaned against the panel and tried to control by breathing and I'd not regretted my choice of turning downing down the volume as Kai and I could have been in worse condition.
Speaking of Kai when I had finally steadied my breathing before dragging him out of that dreaded room.
I quickly consoled Kai and told him to wash his face and try not to dwell on it too much.
After I saw him heading to the washroom I couldn't help but feel guilt over the fact that it was mainly my fault he was in that state as I didn't try hard enough to convince him otherwise. I knew that freshening up was not going to help him heal from that experience but there wasn't really much I could do as I didn't know how to handle him in that mental state—I had also suffered through the same but I didn't have as much of a negative reaction as Kai did.
It took a while but he finally came out looking like he saw a ghost with how pale his face was. We quickly walked towards the dorm and silently agreed that we wouldn't speak of this ever again.
After we had arrived Nya had spotted us and quickly rushed towards us and and tried to analyze our expressions to see how we were doing.
Needless to say her face seemed grim after what she saw and it only grew worse after she saw Kai's condition.
Without even uttering a word—she hugged us as if to let us know she was there for us.
"Just get some rest" was all she said before she dragged us to our respective beds.
Just then I decided to check the time and saw that it was nearly 10 pm and that surprised me as I had set off for the room at at least 12 am.
While trying to go to sleep and my assumption of having to sleep through hundreds of snores was proven right I thought about Deino and hoped that he was hiding somewhere safe.
Thinking about Deino and basically anything else really helped me from dwelling on that incident too much—especially the raticate.
Just then I closed my eyes for the last time that night.
————————————————————————————————————
It's been a few days since we been here and things have slowed down a bit.
Now that I have fully explored the bunker—I realized there wasn't really much to do.
Nya's been complaining about the lack of internet in this place and has just resorted to aura training with me.
Kai hasn't joined us yet as we told him to get some rest to avoid stress.
My mental state on the other hand was doing much better, and I used the memory as motivation to get stronger and to not feel helpless anymore
So far aura mastery for me has been pretty good….I even managed to manefest it in physical form as a small shield though only capable of taking a few hits from Nya.
It's also pretty draining and I can only keep it stable for a few seconds before it starts flickering and eventually disperses.
Nya however has managed to infuse her arms with a small amount of aura to hit harder and can throw punches way faster now.
Luckily the Pokemon league did decide to postpone the license exam until the end of viridian's tide.
I have also been seeing more people going to the room to most likely see how the outside forces are doing and possibly check if their family or friends fighting in it are fine.
At the fifth day I realized I hadn't fully explored the place as I had found a pretty big library in there. I saw as my salvation as I finally wouldn't be bored for the remainder of the tide.
I quickly went looking for Nya when I had had found her training in the same spot we had using so we wouldn't get caught.
"Nya, I found a library around the south corridor. It was—"I was interrupted by Nya sprinting away the instant she heard the location.
I looked at her receding figure with disbelieving eyes, sighed and ran to catch up with her.
In my haste of finding Nya I didn't actually look to see what kind of books were in the library.
Luckily each section was labeled and I found Nya seating on a bean bag reading a book tititled,'Moves and mastery'.
It took me a few minutes to grab her attention as she was insanely focused in the book to ask what it was about.
She looked annoyed and said,"It's about what the title says dumbass." she then turned back to the book in hand.
I clearly wasn't satisfied with answer and decided to grab it out of her hands and sprint away before she would have any time to do anything to me.
"Give it back here you BASTARD." I winced as I regretted teaching her and Kai some….words to use in case of emergencies.
Now that I was running at full speed from the she demon that was the Nya only did I realize what a bad idea this was.
I quickly stopped and placed the book on ground, got on my knees and started begging for mercy.
Though sadly when she had had caught up to me which wasn't long—she threw a punch towards my gut.
I was immediately taken back with the force of the blow and fully dropped to the ground clutching my stomach and started writhing in pain and groaning involuntarily.
When I looked up and saw her face—she even the audacity to look smug at my misery,"You steal my stuff again—it'll be your solar plexus next…with more aura used. We clear?"
I quickly nodded my head and went back to cradling my stomach while she walked away with the book.
I got up slowly and hunched forward slightly and took a glance at my watch.
It was 7:00 pm meaning I had some time to burn before curfew at 10.
I wandered around the library trying to find a section that would interest me.
Though the sections were mostly science related wierdly enough—there were a few about Pokemon as well.
Though the section of Pokemon food did catch my eye as it was probably the smallest section with only around 20 books.
I instantly tried to find books about dark and dragon types which I did after not long.
I cracked open the book about dragon type Pokemon and after some reading…grew pale.
It said that dragon Pokemon have the biggest appetite among all the types and were notoriously prideful and gluttonous.
I realized that I may have been under feeding Deino but he didn't ask for any more so I didn't know his true feelings.
After some thinking I came to conclusion that since he was held captive under Team Rocket—they must have barely fed him to the point he was satisfied with the amount I gave him.
I quickly turned the pages to see what type of food they ate and immediately regretted it.
For the average dragon type—a days worth of premium food could cost up to 10K poke…which is insane considering the reward money I got which by no means a small amount and enough to rent a house for a few moths would be depleted in 5 days.
I looked at other alternatives and found pages with a brief description of each species's like and needs.
Deino's passage was by far one of the smallest only containing 5 sentences.
Nevertheless it said they liked spicy and bitter tasting food and need plenty of persim berries to improve processing and comprehensive abilities and need berries that boost friendship as they are one of the hardest Pokemon to tame apart from other dragon and poison types.
I also checked the prices of pokeblocks and saw that they were incredibly expensive. Just for a medium quality pokeblock costed 500 a piece and since Deino needed at least 25 of them per day it would cost 12.5K.
I wondered what was the big difference between pokeblocks and Pokemon food when I saw that the food was mostly used for development and pokeblocks were used for recovering stamina and increasing endurance.
I decided to try and buy a pokeblock blender and a portable farm to create Deino's and my future Pokémon's food once I'd earned by license of course.
I decided to check the dark type book next and it give me some information about certain recipes for dark type Pokemon in general—which helps in the growth of all dark type Pokemon equally.
There are specialized recipes for each Pokemon but they are rare and closely guarded secrets belonging to huge corporations and important families like the Blackthorn or Stone family.
Unfortunately there weren't any recipes for dragon types in the first book I picked up so I'd have to settle for the dark type food and one's that suit Deino's tastes.
After I'd finished reading both the books—I took a glance at my watch and found out it was around 9:30.
I kept both books back so that no one would see me holding it or come here as then the library could get pretty crowded if rumours spread…and I could always come back here later.
I started looking for Nya when I had found her reading a different book…this time though I gently tapped her on the shoulder and told her that we should go as it was getting late.
"Alright" was all she replied before keeping the book back and we walked to dorm together.
