The music was blaring loud at the venue, with everyone enjoying themselves, dancing and having fun. And at the corner of the venue, an eighteen years old, Dove Sterling sat quietly, looking at everyone around, while she had a glass of juice in her hand, that she had picked up from a waiter a little while earlier, on whose birthday she was here for. Dove looked bored, as she wasn't really liking the vibe of the atmosphere there. And she sighed.
She looked down at the glass of mango juice in her hand, before she gulped down the entire content of the glass. She wasn't really very much interested in coming over here, at the first place, if not for repeated requests from Nora, and her telling on how she would be very sad if Dove did not come to the party. So, at the end Dove did not have any choice but to come. Since, Nora was one of Dove's friends. And the girl was really sweet to her.
But after coming here, Dove realised that the party wasn't of really Dove's type, as she saw most of them getting drunk and having fun, and dancing. Most of them were of her own class high school. And they had just completed their senior high, and attained legal age, and these people were already like this. Dove had planned to leave just after the cake cutting and handing over the gift to Nora. But Nora again requested her to wait for a while more. Then she asked her something to eat, and a waiter to come over, who was carrying glasses of juices. And Dove had picked up the mango juice.
Dove took out her phone from her pocket and saw the text that she had sent Roan earlier, that she was here in Nora's party and she would leave soon. And he said that he would pick her up. And now he had texted again, and he was almost near the venue, but he was stuck in a traffic, and it was taking time. Roan was her boyfriend and fiancé.
Dove kept the glass on the counter, and stood up on her feet. She decided to bod goodbye to Nora, before leaving. But just when she took a step, Dove lost her balance, and her head started spinning. She held the counter, and tried to stabilize herself, as she held her head.
"Dove!" Nora rushed by her side, and she held her arm, looking concerned, "What happen? Are you okay?"
Dove closed her eyes shut, and she could feel her breathing getting laboured, and feeling very uncomfortable all of a sudden. She bit her lips, trying to supress the growing discomfort. "Dove?" Nora called her name carefully and gently again.
Dove sighed heavily and slowly shook her head, and said, "N- Nora!"
"Yes, Dove? What's wrong?" Nora answered at once, as she rubbed her back, so as to make her feel comfortable.
"Nora, I- I am suddenly not feeling well. Hah..!" Dove took deep breaths while speaking, and she really felt very uncomfortable.
Nora pressed her lips together, and she looked at Dove, who had her head lowered, and she said, "Do you want to rest?" Dove opened her eyes very painfully, as she felt like just opening her eyes were taking all of her energy. And she said, "Roan will be here soon." Nora still looked at her with concern and then coaxed her, "Its alright. I have booked a room in this hotel for me to rest along with this hall. You can rest there for a while. If Roan comes then I will tell him that you are resting. Is it alright?"
Dove did not have anymore energy and she felt like suddenly all of her energy was sucked away, and she ended up nodding her head.
