Nasya's POV
The moment the doors parted, two small missiles came hurtling toward me. "Mommy! We missed you so much!" Joanna's high-pitched squeal echoed through the marble-lined hallway as she launched herself into my arms, quickly followed by Orion's more restrained but equally heartfelt embrace. I sank to my knees on the floor, burying my face in their soft hair, inhaling the familiar scents of Joanna's and Orion's smell. The tension that had coiled in my shoulders for five endless days began to unwind as their warm bodies pressed against mine.
"I missed you both more than all the stars in the sky," I murmured, kissing the tops of their heads in turn.
Joanna clung to my neck like a koala while Orion, ever the serious one, pressed his face against my collarbone. "Mommy," he murmured, his voice muffled against my skin, "next time you go on a business trip, can we come too? We promise we won't be any trouble."
