"Is that Tianyang?" Liu Erlong, standing in the distance, wore the same expression as Tang San and the others.
"Probably not. The aura feels different," Yu Xiaogang replied without hesitation. "This must be Saber, but the idea undoubtedly came from Tianyang. Only he could come up with such bizarre ideas."
"Hmph, such a beautiful girl, and he dressed her up like this!" Liu Erlong gritted her teeth. "If I ever catch that kid, I'll definitely show him the power of my Fist!"
Yu Xiaogang and Flender exchanged glances, ultimately shaking their heads in resignation. They didn't mind the situation, but the problem was they neither wanted nor dared to try to calm Liu Erlong down.
…
At the camp, Saber watched as Dai Mubai charged toward her, his first and third soul rings glowing simultaneously. Her hand rested gently on the hilt of the sword at her waist. With a flash of cold light, the sword was drawn!
"Clang!"
The blade collided with Dai Mubai's fist, sending shockwaves scattering in all directions, kicking up a cloud of dust and smoke!
Just as Dai Mubai thought he could keep Saber occupied, she suddenly raised her arm and stepped forward with her right foot.
Although Tang San and the others had undergone rigorous physical training under Xiao Tianyang, making them stronger than most soul masters of their level, it all depended on who they were compared to.
Xiao Tianyang was the benchmark they aspired to reach, and Saber represented the realm they were striving for.
This alone spoke volumes about Saber's physical prowess which was second only to Xiao Tianyang and stronger than Dai Mubai!
Saber gripped the hilt of her sword with both hands and slammed it into Dai Mubai's fist, sending it flying into the air. At the same time, in a move that left Dai Mubai stunned, her elbow struck his chin.
"Boom!"
The entire sequence happened so quickly that no one could fully comprehend what Saber had done.
Only Tang San, with his Purple Demon Eyes activated, saw everything clearly. A cold sweat trickled down his brow.
"What kind of combat intuition is this? To exploit such a flaw so effortlessly!" Tang San thought to himself. "Not only that, her physical strength might be slightly inferior to Xiao Tianyang's, but it far surpasses ours!"
These thoughts flashed through Tang San's mind. In the next moment, Blue Silver Grass erupted from the ground beneath Saber's feet, attempting to entangle her. But it was futile.
The sword in Saber's hand was a classic knight's cross sword. It had no special attributes except its razor-sharp edge.
It might not be able to cut through gold or jade, but slicing through Blue Silver Grass was more than enough. With a swift flash of the blade, the Blue Silver Grass was cleanly severed in two.
With the entanglement broken, Saber seized the opportunity, tapping her toes lightly and swiftly escaping the grasp of the Blue Silver Grass.
"How can she move so fast in such heavy armor?!" Oscar exclaimed in disbelief. "Is that armor even real?"
"Whether it's real or not, you'll find out soon enough!" Ma Hongjun's second and third soul rings lit up simultaneously.
Flames erupted around his body as a pair of fiery wings sprouted from his back. Rising three meters into the air, Ma Hongjun locked onto Saber's position and unleashed his first soul skill.
"First Soul Skill: Phoenix Fire Wire."
Saber sidestepped gracefully, her sword held backward. The fiery line passed just inches from the blade.
In one fluid motion, she gripped the hilt tightly and slashed forward, cutting the line of fire in half! Not only that, the sticky properties of the flames caused Saber's cross sword to ignite as well.
"Fatty, are you the monkey's accomplice or something?" Oscar's nose nearly twisted in frustration.
Ma Hongjun felt as if he had swallowed a fly, his discomfort evident. The others looked equally surprised, but Tang San remained calm though mainly because he had no time to be surprised. Saber was already swinging her sword at him!
The scorching heat roared toward him.
Tang San instinctively leaned back, narrowly avoiding the blade with an iron bridge maneuver.
Seeing her opponent change his stance, Saber responded calmly, delivering a swift side kick to Tang San's ankle.
Tang San, losing his balance, let out a startled cry. However, those who practice hidden weapons focus on three key aspects: eyesight, ingenuity, and agility. At this critical moment, Tang San made the right decision.
Instead of forcing himself to stand, he pressed his hands against the ground and flipped backward, creating distance between himself and Saber. At the same time, he flicked a few hidden weapons from his sleeves.
In the darkness, the cold glint of silver needles shone like deadly talismans, capable of ending lives in an instant. But to Saber, they were as bright as fireflies.
"Ding! Ding! Ding!"
Saber twisted her wrists, blocking the needles with her sword. Sparks flew as the needles struck the blade, but none found their mark, falling harmlessly to the ground.
"She blocked all of them?!" Tang San was shocked but quickly refocused. "Xiao Wu, Zhuqing, don't get close to her. Fight from a distance!"
At that moment, each of them suddenly held a sausage in their hands. They stuffed the sausages into their mouths, and in the next instant, transparent wings sprouted from their backs, lifting them into the air.
"Zhuge Crossbow!" Tang San shouted.
The seven of them moved in unison, drawing back their right hands as Zhuge Crossbow materialized in their grips.
The metal parts of the crossbows, along with the cold arrows, bore intricate patterns.
If Xiao Tianyang were here, he would have recognized the material immediately as it was steel from his world, specifically the renowned Damascus Steel.
It was hard to imagine how far Tang San had come with just a little guidance.
Although Xiao Tianyang had provided the forging method and partial material formula for Damascus Steel, it was Tang San's talent that brought it to life.
In essence, Xiao Tianyang had merely pointed him in the right direction, and Tang San had carved out his own path in a remarkably short time. That was truly impressive.
Of course, replacing some of the materials in the hidden weapons with Damascus Steel had significantly increased their power. However, it was more of an enhancement rather than a game-changer. Moreover, Tang San still had one critical limitation which was his current level.
Was the Dragon Beard Needle formidable? Was the Mother-Son Soul-Chasing Arrow fearsome? Yes, but the difference between Tang San's usage and Dugu Bo's was like night and day.
Even if Tang San had superior techniques and knew how to unleash greater power through special methods, the gap in soul power was undeniable.
Even if Dugu Bo were to throw with his eyes closed or even with his feet, it would still far surpass Tang San's current capabilities with hidden weapons.
This was the difference between his past life and this one. And it was the key reason why he was struggling against Saber now!
