Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 - New Life as their Leader

[Back to the present and an hour after Basilio was now able to walk from his hospital ward…]

Basilio's POV

Because of what Chivo and the others in the Vamzom army-race had explained to me, I was now standing at the Blood Fortress, as it was called of this base of the Vamzoms, Obelisk looking at the names of those who died in their regretted attacks in the past. Some of the victims' names listed and engraved on the coated marble were never known so a number after the word "Victim" was placed instead, and these numbers were numbered in order. In my hands, a box that belonged to the deceased Vamzom leader, Ruslan Makesa, contained his powers as a Vamzom, preserved and reserved for me.

Ruslan-san's name had been etched on the last part of the list of victims.

Staring at the grave obelisk, I couldn't help but feel bad for both sides in those attacks: the victims and the Vamzoms. Why? Because my mind theorized that the Vamzoms might have a problem within themselves.

And so, I want his soul to be at peace, and, after his younger sister Helena had told me about his last will for me, I opened the box and let his powers go into me.

As a result, I was shrouded in a red and black aura-like magic as my senses heightened at this moment. And then…it subsided, and I opened my eyes, feeling the mild sensations of being a Vamzom, but it was with very mild feelings of thirst for blood. After that, Helena, Chivo, and a Vamzom soldier named Artem Rusu went to me and revealed to me that I am now a Partial Vamzom, which has occasional (in most cases, rare) thirst for blood but has no hunger for flesh or the red eyes of the Vamzoms.

I was stunned, and in time, the system screen in front of me and informed me that I had become a Partial Vamzom, albeit only 40 percent of being a Vamzom.

"What?" I was stunned again. "How's that 40 percent?"

"It's because you got bitten by some of them on the day of the attack," replied the system. "That makes up 20 percent of it."

 "Oh...that makes sense..."

With that, the system gave a good luck message to me and disappeared.

And as I was processing this experience and fate in my life, Chivo showed a small mirror to me, revealing and showing that I didn't have the red eyes of the Vamzoms.

Because of that, I was thankful that I didn't become like Helena, Artem, and the other Vamzoms, yet I still inherited and possessed a Vamzom's powers, albeit having rare thirst for blood only.

And with that, I accepted my new position as the Vamzoms' new leader, and by the next day, I gave out a speech to all of the Vamzoms in the Blood Fortress' main field, announcing my succession on Ruslan's behalf and promising to do my best in my position as their new leader, as well as to maintain good relations with the other races like the humans. Because of that, all of the Vamzoms, except for Chivo, kneeled before me and said together, "We swear our loyalty to you, Basilio Valencia."

I smiled back at them.

My mind then said, "This is gonna be hard…" But suddenly, a lot of inspiration for change from my previous life, specifically inspiration from my home country and its culture, way of life, values, and political and government systems, struck my mind like a flash of huge lightning.

That was when I knew these things had inspired me to remodel their fort home into a nation of its own, crafted and modelled by me.

At the same time, I am now feeling much better and had taken off my bandages. My stab and shot wounds are now gone, albeit a few, small and short scars remained on my chest.
