Aurora spent a good ten minutes bracing Tesarius for what he was about to hear, warning him that it would make him lose his temper, and that he was not to fly off the handle. That no matter how mad he got, he was to promise her he would not to anything irrational or make this a public issue.
Tesarius was beyond scared now. He was terrified. What could have been so worrisome and horrible for Aurora to give him a ten-minute warning? Especially when they were discussing Amalia being a traitor?
He was deeply immersed as she prepared herself to say the truth. And say it she did. But the reaction she anticipated from tesarius was far different from what he gave her. Complete opposite at best.
He burst out laughing.
Aurora blinked multiple times, flinching at the force of the laughter erupting from his chest while her lips remained parted like she was dumbfounded. Because she was. She could not think of anything she said was funny.
