Chapter 60 - Transformation

Ahmose Tiaa said nothing. Her hazel eyes blazed with cold fury as she dashed forward, turning into a black streak that cut through the air.

Her blade, wreathed in black flames, sliced toward the Witch Spawn's throat. The creature's eyes widened as he bent backward at the last moment, the burning edge nearly cutting his neck. He felt shivers run down his spine.

Taking advantage of his awkward position, the Witch Spawn lashed out with a powerful kick aimed at her ribs. But Ahmose was ready, bringing her flame-coated blade down to block the strike. The impact sent shockwaves through both combatants.

Using her sword as a springboard, the Witch Spawn pushed off and leaped away, his spiritual perception flaring out like an invisible net to cover the entire chamber. He needed to assess the battlefield, find a weakness to exploit.

His spiritual sense collided with Ahmose Tiaa's own perception, a clash of wills that made the air itself seem to vibrate. But his target wasn't the brown skinned female warrior. His blackish eyes suddenly focused on a different prize.

With a burst of wind-enhanced speed, he dashed toward Ye Ling'er.

"No!"

Ahmose Tiaa realized his intention immediately. She couldn't let him kill any more people. She turned into a black streak, racing toward his direction. She was able to arrive before him, reaching Ye Ling'er first.

Ye Ling'er's face went pale with terror as she saw the scale of destruction around her. The chamber was a battlefield of broken stone, blood, and elemental chaos. When she saw the blue-skinned monster with his blackish eyes racing directly toward her, her heart nearly stopped.

But relief flooded through her as she saw the Moonlight Sect's female warrior arriving just in time to block his path.

However, the Witch Spawn's lips curved into a cruel smile. Ye Ling'er hadn't been his real target at all.

In one fluid motion, he snatched up the unconscious Principal Feng who lay nearby and dashed backward, using his wind ki to accelerate beyond limits.

Ahmose Tiaa's black flame sword arced through the air where he had been standing, the otherworldly fire leaving trails of distorted space in its wake.

But the creature had already landed far away, his prize clutched in his remaining arm.

"Now I'm going to show you what you're up against," the Witch Spawn spoke.

His whole body became wobbly like jelly before it covered Principal Feng, who was still unconscious. It started distorting and merging in a very ugly scene before their eyes. The figure's body turned muscular with blue skin like Principal Feng, but he wasn't Principal Feng anymore,he was the Witch Spawn. He was more muscular and taller than before after merging the two bodies.

His blackish eyes looked at Ahmose Tiaa, and she felt tense when she felt his aura rise. He had become much stronger than before.

Suddenly, he disappeared. The ground where he stood shattered into a crater. Ahmose Tiaa felt a gale of wind as she brought her sword to her front. The Witch Spawn's body suddenly appeared before her, his fist getting bigger in Ahmose Tiaa's face.

The punch landed on her sword. From the impact, she was sent hurtling back and smashed into the walls as dust rose.

Others seeing this felt horrified. She was the last person who was strong enough to face the Witch Spawn, who had now become much stronger. They could feel the pressure of his aura from a distance. it was oppression and fear.

witchSpawn had used his Core skill, Transformation, a sinister ability with two distinct functions.

The first allowed him to devour a target and perfectly replicate their physical, becoming a flawless copy.

The second was far more insidious a merging process where, instead of simply mimicking, he absorbed the target's cultivation and strength into himself.

However, this came at a cost: he would lose the target's appearance and become something monstrous.

A decade ago, he had ambushed and devoured Ye Feng, then used the first function to assume his identity.

To avoid suspicion, he returned to the Ye family claiming he had been grievously wounded in a battle outside Azure Sky City. With the use of a Mind-Binding Gu, he controlled a physician to confirm his story.

That he had to preserve his life force and enter solitary cultivation, which was the only way he could survive.

It was a perfect lie. For ten years, he remained distant, avoided social interaction, and never visited Ye Feng's wives or concubines, knowing any slip could expose his deception.

While his transformation skill allowed him to mimic Ye Feng's appearance, it could not replicate his m aura. To overcome this flaw, he used a rare artifact that masked his true aura signature and projected Ye Feng's aura instead.

The same artifact was also used to implant his original aura into mind blinding Gu puppets, which he sent to various regions.

These Mind-Binding Gu puppets wandered far and wide, creating false trails for anyone who wanted to find him. While they chased shadows, he remained hidden within the Ye family.

The Witch Spawn examined his scorched hand, steam rising from where Ahmose Tiaa's black flames had burned him.

"Interesting flames," he murmured, flexing his fingers despite the searing pain.

Through the settling dust and debris, Ahmose Tiaa emerged like a vengeful spirit. Her Moonlight Sect robes hung in tatters, revealing glimpses of bronze skin beneath the torn fabric. Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth, staining her lips crimson, but her hazel eyes burned with unbroken determination.

Black flames suddenly erupted around her like wings of shadow and fire. Using the flames to propel herself forward, she became a blazing comet racing toward the towering Witch Spawn. Her blade sang through the air, aimed at his waist.

The 8-foot monster twisted away from her strike, wind swirling around him as he moved with inhuman speed. His form blurred, leaving multiple afterimages that confused the eye. Each time Ahmose struck, she hit only empty air while craters marked where his feet had touched the ground.

Frustrated, she unleashed her power completely. Black flames exploded outward from her body like a volcanic eruption, coating everything within reach. The intense heat melted stone pillars into slag and turned the ground beneath her feet into molten rock.

She looked up, her spiritual perception locking onto the Witch Spawn. He was crouched on the ceiling, legs coiled like a predator. In the next instant, he launched himself like a bullet.

The impact shattered the upper structure, sending a thunderous shockwave through the air. Chunks of stone and dust exploded upward, revealing the open sky above as the ceiling disintegrated. Suddenly, moonlight poured down through the gaping hole, illuminating the destruction below.

In a blink. The Witch Spawn plummeted toward her with terrifying speed, wind howling around his massive frame. His fist cut through the air like a cannonball, creating a hurricane of pressure that made breathing difficult.

Ahmose Tiaa reacted instinctively, raising her sword and driving it upward. Pillars of black flame erupted from the blade, roaring to life around her. The flames were fierce , far stronger than any ordinary fire but they had come a heartbeat too late.

The Witch Spawn's attack struck first.

The black flames were blown apart, scattered like leaves in a storm. The force of the blow slammed into the ground, shattering it into a wide crater. The aftershock sent stone and earth flying into the air.

Ahmose Tiaa was blasted downward, swallowed by the collapsing terrain. Blood burst from her mouth, splattering across the debris as the impact crushed into her ribs. Dust and debris surged around her as she crashed deep underground, her figure vanishing into the broken earth.

Moonlight spilled into the massive hole, casting a pale glow across the shattered earth below.

The Witch Spawn leapt down, landing gracefully within the underground chamber. His spiritual perception pulsed outward like a radar, sweeping the debris filled space as he searched for Ahmose Tiaa, buried somewhere beneath the rubble.

But his senses detected more than just the fallen warrior. Two other presences caught his attention, and when he turned to look at them, his smile widened with dark pleasure.

There, dressed in white robes that seemed to glow in the moonlight, stood Sheng Qianying. Her milky pale skin was flawless, and her ocean blue eyes held a beauty that could steal men's souls. She was breathtakingly gorgeous, a beauty he had coveted for an entire decade.

During his years impersonating Ye Feng, he had never dared touch her, fearing that any intimate contact might expose his deception.

But now, with his newfound strength and the spatial gates could open to allow his escape, no one could stop him from taking what he desired.

His gaze lingered hungrily on her form. He could have his fun with her here, or perhaps even bring her back to the Ghoul Continent as his personal treasure.

Beside Sheng Qianying stood Ye Xian, but the Witch Spawn barely spared him a glance. The young man was insignificant, someone he could crush to death with a single palm strike.

His eyes returned to Sheng Qianying, and his expression turned increasingly lewd as he stared at her with undisguised lust.

Boom!

Suddenly, a brutal impact smashed into his head like a sledgehammer. His body flew through the air, slamming into the chamber wall with a thunderous crash. His vision flickered black as rubble rained down around him.

Dazed, he stand up, shaking his head to clear his vision. When he looked around, confusion filled his mind.

There were two Ye Xians.

One stood protectively near Sheng Qianying, while the other, the one who had struck him, stood ready for battle with clenched fists.

The Witch Spawn's blackish eyes narrowed as he tried to understand what he was seeing. How could there be two of the same person.
