Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: 10 Day Training

[3rd POV]

With the man leaving, the group was left alone in the room, all still going over what had been talked about during that little...meeting, wondering what the hell just happened.

"So...what do we do now? I mean, we can't really think Riser has a chance of beating us, right?" Kiba asked, knowing that the training they had been receiving, was well beyond anything the man had been training. He alone could counter the immortality of Riser thanks to Morgan's teachings regarding imagination and creativity with his sacred gear.

"Oh he stands no chance. But I say we train the best we can in the next 10 days to prepare just in case. Like Morgan has said before, we've got no clue whether or not he will play fair, and it's best we prepare for that just in case" Rias replied with a shake of her head.

The Phenex family had a LOT of ways of defeating them, and no matter what they were, they would be incredibly difficult to get around. So they would need to train and prepare the best they possibly can, and there was only one person that could do that for them.

Looking at Morgan, Rias was about to ask before Morgan beat her to it "I'll help you Rias. I've already trained you this far, might as well finish it so that you can get rid of Riser for good" Morgan said, shrugging as she did have the time.

It was also about time she started to get more...involved in things. Like dealing with the Phenex family.

"Thank you Morgan" Rias said with a happy grin on her face, knowing that with Morgan's help, Riser would have no chance, well, should at least.

"Good. Go ahead and get your stuff ready. And I'm sure you've got a location for this training, right?" Morgan asked as Rias nodded.

"We have a property in the Underworld that I'm sure we can train in. It's out of the way and should be perfect for training no matter how loud and destructive it can get" Rias replied, glancing at Grayfia who nodded.

"Good, I'll be back here tomorrow so we can head there. Although I must warn you that the training in these 10 days will be...particularly brutal. And yes, that includes you Akeno, it's about time you stop avoiding me and my training" Morgan said, giving Akeno a look who flinched slightly at the look. Rias joined Morgan, knowing that Morgan was right that Akeno needed to start properly training with Morgan.

"Understood Morgan, she'll be training with you. Isn't that right, Akeno?" Rias said, giving Akeno a fierce look, as she was also beginning to get fed up with Akeno's avoidance of Morgan.

"I-fine. But only for this rating game, I won't be using it after" Akeno said with a small scowl nearly forming on her face, but had to fight it off knowing that giving Rias an attitude right now was not a good idea. That and she'd look like a bit of a bitch if she did, considering the rather volatile situation.

"Good enough I guess" Morgan said, deciding not to push the issue further, knowing that it wasn't the time for that.

With that decided, Morgan looked them over and smiled.

"Good, now go ahead and get ready, be here tomorrow morning at 8 or you'll all be in for a world of hell, got it?" Morgan ordered, as they all nodded rapidly, knowing that this world of hell would not be fun.

Smiling, Morgan got to her feet, and looked Rias over before speaking "See you tomorrow!" Before teleporting off in order to prepare for the next ten days of tortu-training.

The next morning, in front of the Occult club, Rias and her peerage were waiting, Grayfia standing at the side as she was going to accompany them on this little training session. They had been waiting for around 20 minutes now, and were beginning to get nervous, only for Morgan to appear in front of them, a grin on her face as she looked at them.

"Good, you're all here. Now, let's get down there so we can get this training started" Morgan said, as Grayfia nodded slowly, a demonic circle forming underneath them, as they all teleported off, reappearing in the underworld moments later.

Seeing the red skies above, Morgan grinned before turning back to the group.

"Now that we're all here, I'm going to be upping the seals on your bodies. It's time you work on your physiques, I'll be at the manor waiting for you. If you can't reach the manor within an hour, you'll all restart back here again until you can, got it?" Morgan said, as they all began to pale realizing what she meant by training.

"A-isn't this a bit much?" Rias stuttered, paling as she knew that this was going to be a lot worse than she had initially expected.

"Do you want to become Riser's wife?" Morgan asked with a raised eyebrow as Rias rapidly shook her head, far more disgusted with that idea than she was nervous about this training.

"Then get that great ass of yours going!" Morgan yelled as Rias blinked at the compliment, blushing slightly only to listen to Morgan, beginning to run as she felt the weight upon her rapidly begin to increase.

Watching the group begin to run off, Morgan glanced at Grayfia.

"They're going to hate you after this, you know" Grayfia said, having been warned of the sort of training that they were going to be put under. And even she had to feel bad for them, as it was even more brutal than the sort of training she had been put under.

"They'll hate me until they realize that this is for their best interest" Morgan replied with a shrug, not minding if they hated her for a bit, as it was meant to be brutal, and was meant to be hard. Otherwise what was the point of training?

Hearing this Grayfia just nodded slowly, as Morgan grinned.

"Now let's get to the manor!"

Later that day, after four hours of running and retrying several times due to not being able to get there in time, Rias and her peerage had finally gotten to the manor, finding Morgan sipping on a beer as she leaned back in a sun chair.

"Ah you're finally here, good! Now, we'll start with the next part. Which is individual training with my very helpful clones here" Morgan said, motioning to clones of herself that she had learned to make through a spell she had found in her family library the day prior.

They had all been connected to her and had all the memories she did, making it easy for her to train them all at the exact same time, massively improving the rate of training.

"Each of you will be trained in the areas that will be best utilized against Riser and his peerage. You'll be taught the strengths of weaknesses of his peerage based on the previous rating games that I have analyzed, and you will be trained in countering potential ways he will try and cheat, including bringing others into the game, illegal objects such as holy items, and some similar areas" Morgan continued, as they all nodded in understanding.

This was the exact sort of training that they had needed, the sort of training that would make them 100% Guaranteed to defeat the man.

"You all understand?" Morgan asked as they all nodded again.

"Great, let's get started!"

[Day 1]

On day one of the training, aka the day they had gotten there. The rest of the day had been primarily focused on training them in learning the weaknesses and strengths of Risers peerage, and how to counter them.

She had taught them and showed them which members they'd need to get rid of first, and which matchups were the best, the latter being primarily taught to Rias in order to properly strategize. This strategizing had also been done by showing her other rating games the man had taken part in.

Her and Akeno had also started training in light energy.

[Day 3]

Day 2 had went similarly to Day 1. So it was day 3 that was different. As on this day she had begun to focus more on teaching them how to counter any sort of ways the man might cheat, chief amongst them being Holy objects and how to counter them.

This led to teaching Rias how to use her power of destruction to destroy holy objects, and teaching Akeno how to use her light energy to counter them. Both of them were good ways of getting around them.

Touki and Senjutsu were another, but they were a lot harder to use and Koneko wouldn't have the time. While Kira's swords at their current form wouldn't be able to do something like that, not yet at least.

[Day 5]

Another two days of training in that area had occurred, all the while she had put them through rigorous stamina training, and demonic energy control. Their power in that area rapidly improved thanks to her using several potions in the food she cooked for them, that would allow them to grow and adapt far faster than they normally would have.

And this was completely legal, surprisingly enough, she made sure it was with Grayfia. As she'd rather not fuck over Rias on accident or anything.

Now with the training in the countering of some of the bullshit that Riser would pull out, she began to focus more on the teamwork aspect of a proper rating game. All done through a sort of fake rating game she had set up using her clones.

They had been...surprisingly quite good at it. Likely thanks to her training Rias in strategy extensively, making her adapt to the rating game situation far faster than otherwise.

Akeno had also used holy lightning for the first time on this day. Much to her own disgust with the power. She still continued to train it, knowing that it was needed to defeat Riser and his peerage.

[Day 7]

Two more days of that similar training had continued.

At the moment Morgan was sitting outside on her balcony, sipping on a cup of tea as she contemplated what to do next, always planning, and always thinking of the future. She was cut off from her thoughts as she heard someone approaching, this someone being Rias.

"Ah Rias, what can I do for you?" Morgan asked, as Rias reached behind her and brought out a bottle.

"You've been using these on us, haven't you?" Rias asked, as she held the empty potion bottle in her hand as Morgan sighed.

"I have been. I apologize for not telling you, but it was n-" "Thank you" Rias cut her off as Morgan blinked, noticing the brilliant smile on Rias's face.

"What?"

"These potions are top of the line, expensive even for my family. And yet you've been using them on us every single day, in every meal. Meaning you're spending a lot of money on us, on...on me. And...it means a lot Morgan, more than you could ever know" Rias said, blushing slightly as she said this all, which Morgan couldn't help but find cute.

"Yeah well, I've grown quite...fond of my adorable students, and you're one of them" Morgan replied with a warm smile on her face, Rias's blush deepening at being called adorable.

"T-thank you" Rias stuttered, as Morgan raised an eyebrow before smirking and getting to her feet, walking closer to Rias who stepped back slightly.

"Am I making you nervous, little heiress? Is that a blush I see on those cheeks of yours?" Morgan asked, growing closer to the girl who was struggling to properly reply to the woman who she had a not so little crush on.

"I-um-I-" Rias let out a small squeak, her normally confident demeanor completely evaporating before Morgan who leaned down closer to her, pushing her finger underneath Rias's chin to make her look up at her, as the girl couldn't help but look at Morgan's lips.

"Do you want to kiss me Rias? You're looking at my lips an awful lot~" Morgan purred, as Rias shivered at the tone.

"Y-Yes" Rias sputtered, Morgan chuckling at the response.

"I'm glad you know what you want. So, how about this. If you win this rating game, I'll let you kiss me" Morgan said with a smirk, noting the way Rias's eyes lit up at the idea.

She wasn't sure when Rias had started to feel this way, but she suspected it had been there for a while, she had just been very very good at hiding it. That or the past few days had brought it out of her or something of the sort.

"O-Okay" Rias replied, as Morgan grinned.

"Good girl, now, go ahead and have dinner with the others, I'll be joining you all in a bit" Morgan said, as she stepped back, watching with a laugh as Rias ran off, likely to cover up the fact that she was rather...excited from that little interaction.

Watching her run off, Morgan just laughed loudly, one thought on her mind as she did so.

'Now I have to make sure she wins that rating game~'

That's the end of the chapter!

Not sure how good this chapter was, as it was a bit rough to write, but I got it in the end.

I've heard some concerns regarding the focus on Riser, and to that I say that he and the Phenex family are VERY important to this arc. Riser is not this arcs main antagonist, he's sort of an appetizer before the main entree sort of thing. Trust me, it'll start making more sense soon.

Anyways, have a good day!
