Chapter 56 - Coming To An Agreement

It's eight in the morning and the sun's already up, lighting up Central City with its burning blaze.

"mmnnnn~ an," Caitlin moans as she slowly opens her eyes.

Her eyes fall on the side of her bed and find it empty. She stares at the empty stop for a few seconds before her eyes snap wide open.

She immediately sits up as memories of the night play in her head. She remembers all of it. Everything.

The way she initiated the sex, the way they kissed each other with passion and lust, the way they fucked, the way she moaned, being subjected to the intensity Barry brought to the sex.

As all these thoughts ran through her head, she wanted to blame it on being drunk, but she knew she couldn't. Sure, when she initiated the sex by kissing Barry, she was a little drunk, but after they got to the sex part, she became completely sober.

And even if she was drunk, she wouldn't be able to forget this night because the sex was too good. It was not just good; it was the best thing she had ever experienced.

Nothing came close; the difference between the second-best sex and last night is so great that it's not even comparable. It's night and day.

And her body still remembers every second of it.

'Using superpowers during sex is cheating,' she thought.

'Now what do I do?' she questions as the line she thought she wouldn't cross has been crossed. And she doesn't think she can go back, but she also doesn't want to experience the same heartbreak she went through with her last fiancé.

Sighing, she gets out of her bed and puts on something to cover herself. 'We went a little too far,' Caitlin thinks as her whole body feels sour.

She walks out of the bedroom and into the kitchen, when she suddenly freezes. She sees Barry in the kitchen preparing breakfast.

She thought he left, but here he is, in her house, making breakfast.

"Looks like you are awake, sit down. I made breakfast," Barry says without turning around.

Caitlin doesn't speak. She turns around and walks towards the dining table, and sits down while her eyes never leave Barry. She sees him wearing the same clothes he had on last night, but the only thing she can imagine is his naked, hot body.

She shakes her head, trying to get rid of her thoughts.

Done, making breakfast, Barry walks over and places it before Caitlin, before sitting down as well.

Barry looks at Caitlin and sees that she is still processing what happened last night.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Barry asks.

Caitlin lifts her head and meets his eyes. She wants to say something, but can't express her words.

"Before you say anything, I want to tell you what I feel. We have already crossed that line, and there is no going back, but I also know that you have not completely moved away from your past.

I also have had a lot of time to think about what I want to do, and I would like to continue this, but just as friends. Last night was incredible, and I want to do it again, but I also don't want to deal with things that we both went through before," Barry says.

As Caitlin listened to Barry's words, she too started seeing things clearly.

She, too, was confused as to what to do, but as she listened to Barry, she realized that she, too, wanted the same.

She is attracted to Barry. She loved what happened last night and wants to experience it again, but she also doesn't want to drag herself into another relationship just because.

And what Barry's suggesting makes it easy for her as well.

She finally speaks. "Me too. I want the same. I want you, I want what we did last night, but I don't want a relationship," Caitlin says.

Their eyes lock, and they come to an understanding.

"Great, so... we can stay friends, but also be..." "Lovers," Caitlin completes Barry's words.

"Cool... I'd better get going before this becomes awkward," Barry says, enters flash time, eats what he made, and leaves in a jiffy.

Caitlin just feels a burst of air, and before she knows, Barry is gone.

Now, finding herself all alone, she chuckles and begins eating the breakfast Barry made for her.

What happened last night didn't make things awkward between them; it just fixed their relationship.

From day one, they craved each other more than they felt for each other. She is still not over her dead fiancé, and Barry is just too busy with his life, balancing a real job and a superhero job.

After this discussion, they both finally at a place that is both comfortable and exciting. And as for a relationship? It's a discussion to be had far ahead in the future.
