{Chapter: 303 Indiscriminate Attack}
A blinding blue light split the sky open, followed by a swirling, chaotic storm of Transformium particles spinning like a miniature galaxy. The very air vibrated with power.
"Roar, my lord, here comes Volcanicus!" a voice echoed like thunder.
Within seconds, the particle storm condensed and fused, revealing a monstrous steel giant—Volcanicus. Towering at over 100 meters, it beat its massive steel wings, each flap sending shockwaves through the clouds as it unleashed a primal metallic roar that shook the city below.
Standing atop the giant's head like a dark emperor was William, his long coat whipping in the wind.
"Volcanicus, unleash hell. Rip apart anyone who dares stand in your way!" William commanded, his voice booming.
Volcanicus roared again and soared forward, slicing through the sky with terrifying force.
The sheer magnitude of the creature drew every eye on the battlefield. Civilians hiding behind overturned cars and crumbling walls froze in panic.
"Oh my God, what is that?!" a man cried out, staring in disbelief.
"Is it with the aliens? Are we doomed?"
"Somebody save us!"
A little girl clung to her mother, sobbing. "Mommy, I don't wanna die..."
"It's William! This has to be William's doing!" a woman screamed. "He's the devil reincarnated. He wants to burn the world to ash!"
"God help us, please—someone stop him!"
---
Loki, hovering above the battlefield on a Chitauri skimmer, gaped in shock at the steel titan slicing through the sky. "What in the Nine Realms…? That didn't come from the wormhole. Who summoned this beast?"
On the ground, Steve Rogers narrowed his eyes and clenched his jaw. "It's not Chitauri tech. So whose side is it on?"
Iron Man's voice crackled through the comms. "That thing's not in the Chitauri playbook. Definitely custom-made. And that energy signature... It's William's."
Hovering nearby, Thor's eyes widened with thunderous recognition. "By Odin… That man upon its head… That is William."
Steve turned toward him. "You're sure?"
Thor's voice deepened. "Aye. I'd know that face anywhere."
"Damn it. So he's siding with Loki?" Steve growled, already stepping into battle stance.
"Doesn't matter if he's with Loki or not," Tony said, jetting into the sky. "That guy's been a ticking time bomb since day one. I say we end it. Now."
As the trio advanced, William simply chuckled from atop Volcanicus. "How convenient. I was going to hunt you down... but you came running like puppies. Saves me the trouble."
"William!" Thor hurled lightning with a furious cry, lightning streaking behind it like a comet. The hammer struck with thunder—right into William's outstretched hand.
But instead of flinching, William merely caught thunder. Lightning danced harmlessly over his body before dissipating into sparks.
Iron Man fired a high-intensity repulsor beam from his chest unit. The energy surged toward William—until it hit a translucent barrier mid-air, stopping like it had slammed into a wall.
William smirked. His eyes flickered with strange light. "Pathetic."
With a flick of his wrist, the energy beam reversed course and rocketed back at Iron Man.
Tony veered hard left, narrowly avoiding it. "Okay, that's new! Alright, now I'm pissed."
"You're always talking, Stark," William called down mockingly. "All that ego, all that bluster—do you ever actually do anything impressive?"
"Just warming up!" Iron Man retorted. "Let's see how smug you are when your toy gets dismantled."
From the ground, the Hulk roared like an earthquake and leaped skyward with a mighty stomp, launching himself toward Volcanicus like a green cannonball.
But before he could land, William vanished in a blink—then reappeared directly in the Hulk's flight path, crackling with thunder. His body exploded with a burst of brilliant white light, a storm of electricity coiling around him like a serpent.
"Not today, beast," he muttered coldly.
"Ha!" William roared, his body exploding with crackling lightning as he shot toward the incoming Hulk like a thunderbolt.
Boom!
The two forces collided midair in a blinding burst of white light and raw power. The shockwave rippled outward like a detonation, cracking the air itself. It was as if a volcano had erupted in the sky.
"RRAAARGHH!" the Hulk bellowed in rage and pain as the electric current danced wildly across his thick green muscles. His massive form was flung backward by the impact, crashing down into the city below with a thunderous boom that left a crater in the concrete.
William, thrown over 300 meters away by the sheer force of the collision, twisted midair and barely managed to halt his momentum with a blast of electricity. Landing roughly, his boots skidded along the asphalt, scorched from the friction. Despite the pain, he grinned, eyes alight with manic energy.
"Now that," he said, electricity crackling around his shoulders, "that was a proper warm-up. Finally… something that makes me feel better."
The ground shook again as Hulk slammed into it with a primal growl, shattering a massive crater beneath him.
William looked to the sky and shouted, "Volcanicus! I'm done here for now. The rest is yours. Go on, unleash hell. Enjoy yourself!"
The towering steel giant roared in response, its mechanical wings slicing the air as it soared forward. Gouts of fire erupted from its jagged maw, searing the Chitauri aircraft midflight and melting their alien steel like candle wax.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Buildings crumbled like sandcastles in a storm as Volcanicus stomped across the city. Every step brought devastation. His enormous frame bulldozed through the skyline, reducing towers and fortifications to rubble.
"ROAAAR!" Volcanicus howled as a dragon-type Chitauri battleship loomed into view.
The steel titan narrowed its burning eyes. The two monsters roared in unison and charged, claws outstretched, engines flaring. The dragon-ship opened its jagged metal mouth and unleashed a stream of fire.
Volcanicus didn't flinch.
"Pathetic," William muttered.
Volcanicus's response came in the form of a white-hot firestream of his own—larger, brighter, and far more intense. The twin flame streams collided, but Volcanicus's inferno quickly overpowered its opponent, blasting straight down the enemy's gullet.
BOOM!
The dragon-type battleship detonated in a fiery explosion. The resulting shockwave obliterated the nearest buildings and left a smoking vacuum where the ship had once been.
From afar, Loki screamed furiously from atop the Chitauri command ship, "For Odin's sake, shoot him down! All ships, focus fire! Bring that thing down!"
A swarm of Chitauri aircraft turned and opened fire on Volcanicus. But despite the barrage of lasers and plasma blasts, the steel giant pressed forward unfazed. The firepower barely dented his armor.
On the ground, Iron Man hovered midair, armor flaring as the arc reactor on his chest began to glow brighter.
"William!" he shouted, launching a searing beam of repulsor energy in form of the unibeam.
William didn't even blink. He thrust one hand forward, and with a surge of power, ripped a massive chunk of earth from the street. The rock slab rose like a shield in front of him. Iron Man's unibeam beam struck it head-on, blasting it to pieces—but William remained untouched.
Then came a flash of lightning.
Thor dove from the sky, Mjolnir raised, face set with righteous fury. "You will pay for your madness, William!"
"Ah yes, the hammer again," William said with a bored tone. "You and your oversized paperweight."
He vanished in a blink.
Thor's strike hit empty air. "What?"
From behind, a flash of white light—William reappeared and delivered a brutal kick to Thor's back.
"Unworthy!" William sneered as Thor was sent hurtling into a row of abandoned cars.
Meanwhile, from below, the Hulk erupted from his crater with a roar that shook windows for miles. Leaping high into the air, he homed in on William, fists ready to smash.
William twisted in midair, dodging with effortless grace. "Still coming, big guy?" he said, smirking. "You never learn."
Hovering midair, lightning dancing around his body, William looked down at the carnage below—flames, smoke, rubble, chaos.
He spread his arms wide. "And so the world burns," he said with grim amusement. "If you want war, you've got one. Don't say I didn't give you a choice."
