After lunch, only a few games were left, including tug-of-war. Sports Day would be concluded at three-thirty in the afternoon, giving the teachers and students time to clean up the field area before sunset.
The sun had softened as Lariette and Nora left the cafeteria. The giant ball of light cast a warm golden hue across the school compound.
The smell of grilled corn, sweet waffles and hot chocolate wafted in the air, coming from the sales booths. Some students and parents went from one stall to the next while the others remained at the field.
"Oh, that's your dear hubby."
Nora nudged Lariette's elbow once she saw a man whose crimson locks shone under the sunlight coming their way. His tall height and striking good looks made him easily spotted among the crowd.
Lariette beamed, her cheeks flushed. She playfully smacked Nora's back, "Hehe, I gonna drag him to the photo booth. Later, Nora."
