Chapter 273 - League Started a Meeting, Rope is Not Worthy?

Rope looked at Hoopa, who was hiding behind Cynthia, and wanted to beat him up on the spot.

Hoopa also knew that he was at a disadvantage, so he could only hide behind Cynthia, and then kept apologizing to Rope.

"That really wasn't my intention, Rope!"

"You pull that again! You're telling me that the you in the spirit world isn't you?"

Hoopa stalled for a moment... yeah, the self in the spirit world was definitely the reaction he craved the most.

"You listen to my sophistry!"

"Like hell I'll listen to you! Come here! Let me kick you!"

Rope blew a gasket. But Cynthia could see that he wasn't actually that angry.

After all, we were all friends, and Rope had done his share of screwing people over in the past and in the beginning, so there was nothing unacceptable about being kicked in the face.

After all, the beating to stand upright.

"Okay, you two stop it."

Cynthia also laughed helplessly, then went on to say to Rope, "Since you're back, why don't you make arrangements for everyone's relevant tasks again? They're all waiting to hear from you as well."

Rope was just about to nod, but then thought for a moment... damn, something's not right...

"No, Cynthia, as I recall these work schedules are supposed to be negotiated by you champions."

Rope said somewhat bemused. He certainly knew that he did know a lot about this stuff, and that he should be in charge of commanding such operations. After all, if the champions were really good at dealing with Legendary Pokémon, then Arceus wouldn't necessarily have chosen himself.

"It's fine, everyone believes what you say, and more to the point..." Cynthia echoed with a helplessly bitter smile, "This is clearly not our side of the story anymore. Hardly speaking, the direct victim of this incident should be Arceus..."

Rope opened his mouth when he heard this, before letting out a helpless sigh.

He knew this was Cynthia giving him a reminder. Cynthia, who had spent a lot of time with him, naturally wouldn't be unaware of whether Servants of God's attack on the Plates of Arceus was a good or bad thing.

Although they couldn't quite figure out Servants of God's specific goal at the moment either. But no matter what, but the nature of this matter was still clear to them.

But since Cynthia was saying this now, it meant that there was such an idea bubbling within League. This was definitely not a good thing.

And it was even more telling that this world's League's knowledge of Legendary Pokémon was shallow.

But Legendary Pokémon also seems to be hiding its head in this world, and I wonder what the fuss is about...

Or of course it could simply be a world feature.

"Does anyone actually think that?"

Rope said somewhat helplessly as he sat down on the couch, then rubbed his temples somewhat helplessly.

Cynthia sat down beside him and rubbed his temples saying, "Normal this time. It's only been a short time since you officially made your mark, and how long since the gods started appearing in large numbers amongst the human population."

"The general public is fine. But there are some trainers and politicians out there who are hitting on the idea of taking Legendary Pokémon and making them work for them as well."

Cynthia herself didn't even hold back a helpless sigh as she said this.

After all, after seeing the power of Legendary Pokémon, although his heart to pursue the strongest remained unchanged. However, he relatively did not look down on these gods as he did a year ago.

After all, when he met Rope in the beginning, he had a fight with the Legendary Pokémon. And there were even more gods to recognize and deal with after that.

Seriously, even the one that stood in the middle of the enemy camp, Dakrai. She didn't even think it was as strong as that Dakrai who had delayed the confrontation between the Twin Gods of Time and Space in Alamos Town with his own strength.

If there was going to be a battle in the end, then it was thought that the Dakrai in Alamos Town would also be a good fighting force.

Rope also shook his head helplessly, one of him was in a pseudo-God's perspective. The reason why it was called 'pseudo' was because this world was different. But it was still similar.

As seen in anime and manga, as well as in games, most humans were more curious about the legendary gods. And the attitude of ambitious and powerful trainers towards Legendary Pokémon was more about utilizing and subjugating them.

There are even many whose idea is to collect Legendary Pokémon...

Like the collector who wanted to collect the Three Legendary Birds in the theatrical version.

But in this world...

Something will go terribly wrong. This isn't a story where you can catch Suicune with a net. Those who underestimate the gods and provoke their wrath will pay a huge price on both sides.

"Alright, I'm going back to the meeting. The involvement behind this is bizarre, and I'm going to need more time to probe."

Rope shook his head, recalling the Soul-Nourishing Beads hanging around his waist, and was more than a considerable headache.

The appearance of these Soul-Nourishing Beads, if it wasn't a coincidence, proved that Servants of God had the support of a main world organization or individual behind them. It was even the case that the Servants of God's top brass, themselves, were from the Main World.

The problem was... he had told Cynthia something similar, and had also made some people guess the trick, already sort of playing by the rules.

It's not unreasonable to hardball his cause if the company and other relevant governing organizations have an idea. That's why things like Servants of God being extraterrestrial visitors can't be preached much longer.

Cynthia looked at Rope with this headache. Although she wasn't particularly sure yet, she had already made a guess.

"There will always be a solution. But what is your decision making. I'll support you without reason!"

It wasn't that Cynthia was overwhelmed by being in love. Rather, in the situation at hand, they had nothing better to do than trust Rope's judgment.

After all, listening to an expert to analyze a decision was better than a group of people buzzing around like flies for a while and then not discussing anything. Then it was better to step directly into the battlefield.

Rope nodded, he had actually said that earlier to shut some people up. it was only natural that Cynthia would support him. There were plenty of other people who should support him as well.

But the League wasn't a one-man show, and Rope wasn't a League coin. It's not possible for everyone to like him.

"There's no rush, I do have to think about this matter again, the water inside is very deep, I'm afraid I can't grasp it..."

Rope was also helpless. Then he got up and said, "Let's not talk about it for now, I still have to go and see professor and the others first, report my safety, and then organize my thoughts. I'll be back soon. Since the other party has no intention of changing bases for the time being. Then our main battlefield is going to be in the Sinnoh region."

The anguish on Rope's face was immediately apparent. If he could, he wouldn't want to put the battlefield in Sinnoh at all, after all, this was Cynthia's hometown.

After all, this is Cynthia's hometown. But if you think about it, no matter where the battlefield is placed, it's still the hometown of some people, so there's nothing to be picky about for a long time. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If it is not in their own head it is just, since it is already in their own head, then there is really no need to come with a hand of woe or something.

"Bring Daisy and Whitley along when you come back. It's quite dashing for you to just walk away, but Daisy and little Whitley are both very worried about you. Bring them over and I'll have company, and it's kind of like having someone who can take care of you for a bit."

Cynthia touched Rope's cheek. Then pinched Rope's cheek when he was about to smile, "After all, we're both going to be very busy next, I'm fine, after all, I'm the Champion, I won't be left unattended, but it's better for you to bring little Whitley and Daisy with you."

Rope was tugged on the cheek and said righteously, "I'm not cheating!"

Cynthia rolled her eyes nicely, then let go of Rope's cheek and smiled, "Do I look like such a petty woman?"

"No matter who I'm competing against, I have absolute confidence!"

Said a little haughtily, raising her head.

Rope also smiled and shook his head. Of course he didn't mean anything else. Whitley was loved as her own sister, while Daisy was her real sister. Whitley's heart towards herself was sort of turned around. But Daisy never did turn the corner.

So Rope was actually consciously staying away from Daisy. instead, Cynthia had been pushing Rope towards Daisy... Rope couldn't even figure out Cynthia's thoughts.

Rope stroked Cynthia's head, then tackled Hoopa, who was silently petrified, and patted him on the head before Cynthia made a move to fight.

Hoopa, not being stupid, looked at Rope's threatening eyes and immediately threw a gold ring and opened the portal. Rope then rushed into the portal in three steps and poked his tongue out at Cynthia like a little kid.

Then the portal closed.

Cynthia looked at where the childish ghost disappeared and smiled, then quickly resumed her appearance as Champion Cynthia. Cool and regal, but no less approachable.

She walked over to her desk and looked at some information Whitley had sent over earlier with a rather stony face.

Seriously, she hadn't thought that actually even that person... would be a member of Servants of God.

"You people... are hiding really deep."

——————————————

Rope returned to the main conference room of the Kanto League where he had stayed before.

And just as he suddenly appeared, everyone in the conference room looked at him in unison with individual faces.

Rope, with a struggling Hoopa under his armpits, looked at everyone in the meeting. Giving an awkward and not so polite smile.

"Hello everyone, I'm passing through, I'll be leaving soon."

And then prepared to gently leave the place.

"Stop, don't go, wait a moment."

Lance at the top looked like he saw Rope like a savior. He hurriedly opened his mouth and said, "Quick, Rope, it just so happens that you're back. Sit down sit down and discuss the relevant defense countermeasures with us."

And the other three Elite Four on the side nodded, knowing best Rope's role in all the events.

From the beginning of the 'Big Event', Rope's importance in intelligence, planning and decision-making had become clearer and clearer. Originally, it should have been the champions from all over the world discussing the coordinated response, but now there were at least Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Kalos, Alola, and the reason why the powers that be in the Galar region were listening to Rope's command.

And except for the only remaining region of Unova, their opinions don't matter so much anymore in the grand scheme of things where the majority rules.

Rope thought for a moment that this was indeed rather outrageous, so it would be good to help Lance out in advance himself.

So he was ready to go up and say a few words.

But as mentioned before, the League...is made up of people. And the relationship between people can only be described with the word complicated.

"Professor Rope doesn't seem to have the qualifications to participate in a meeting of this level."

A discordant voice rang out from in the middle of the conference room.

The gazes of the crowd shifted in unison from Rope's body to the attendee who opened his mouth to speak.

"Yoshizo! What are you talking about!"

There was a white-bearded old man who looked at the young man who had spoken out in dissatisfaction, with a hint of reprimand in his tone.

"But Mr. Akutagawa, I'm not wrong.Professor Rope really doesn't have the qualifications to participate in a meeting of this level. Let alone preside over a meeting..."

Yoshizo wore a cynical smile on his face as if he was just making a joke.

"You..."

Elder Akutagawa was just about to open his mouth to speak again, but he was interrupted by a kindly looking old woman opening her mouth.

"Alas, Akutagawa, although this Yoshizo child's words are unpleasant, he didn't say anything wrong!"

This old woman said with a smile on her face.

Akutagawa's brows steeply furrowed.

"After all, even Oak we didn't involve him in this meeting! And as far as I know, Rope shouldn't have applied for the League's institute yet, which means he's not even a League-attributed professor right now..."

The old woman said still smiling. Elder Akutagawa looked towards the Elite Four in the top position.

The hot-tempered Agatha wasn't here. Otherwise this old woman and that little brute in front of him would never dare to talk like this.

But the other few Elite Four shouldn't just ignore it.

He looked towards Lorelei, Lance and Bruno, only to be surprised to find that all three were looking at the situation in front of him with a look of amusement.

He subconsciously felt that something wasn't quite right. Wanting to open his mouth to ask, but the sudden spike in temperature behind him, as well as the sound of the roaring flames still surprised him.

And as soon as he turned around, he was horrified to find that a Demon King-like Pokémon was pinching Yoshizo with two of its own fingers. Yoshizo's face was filled with panic.

"Who gave you the courage to insult a god, mortal? Rope is not qualified to participate in your meetings? I think it is you who have no business talking to a god."

Hoopa's eyes held a hint of cruelty.

And on the other side, chains of flame danced through the air like flexible Arbok, probing closer to the old woman.

And with a smile on his face, Rope chuckled very gently and said, "Emm, the old lady with the dragon's name that I don't know."

He pronounced the word 'old' with emphasis.

"Would you please add the honorific 'professor' when you speak of Professor Oak?"

"After all, from the fact that I've never met you. You are not acquainted with Professor Oak."

"Since you're not an acquaintance, how about you better use the honorific for this old man whose 'status' is far above yours?"
