"Are you sure the target is here?"
"Absolutely no mistake. Our scouts watched them enter this place."
"Good. Then let's begin the operation."
Dark clouds veiled the moon, casting a suffocating darkness across the city. The atmosphere was thick with tension.
In a remote district on the city's edge, vague silhouettes emerged from shadows. After a brief exchange in hushed voices, the silence of the night shattered.
Boom boom boom…
Blazing trails of fire streaked through the night. Dozens of rockets, like falling stars, launched from surrounding buildings and alleys—bombarding a hotel at the center of the block.
RUMBLE!!!
The massive barrage erupted into a thunderous explosion. Fire and smoke surged outward, engulfing the hotel in a violent blaze. The resulting shockwave spread hundreds of meters, rippling through the streets like a natural disaster.
Surrounding buildings were torn apart—windows shattered, walls cracked or crumbled entirely.
"AHHH!!!"
Screams erupted as panicked residents jolted awake, many thrown from their beds by the force of the blast.
Those inside the hotel had no chance to react.
Lululu—
The night was pierced by sirens. A moment later, armed figures poured out from side streets, alleys, and surrounding rooftops—surrounding the destroyed hotel like a living wall.
They wore camouflage uniforms and carried automatic rifles, submachine guns, and heavy arms.
To an outsider, it might've looked like a full-scale military operation.
But in truth, these weren't soldiers—they were part of a notorious underground mercenary force known as the Death Mercenary Group.
The rumble of armored wheels cut through the chaos.
A heavy vehicle bristling with weapons rolled onto the scene and came to a stop. Two figures stepped out simultaneously.
Both were clad in standard camo gear.
The first had a burly build, spiked hair, and a vicious scar across his face—an imposing man radiating brutality.
The second, however, looked far more refined. Slim, with glasses that glinted coldly under the city's dim lights, he carried himself more like a university professor than a killer.
But appearances were deceptive. The gleam in his eyes betrayed a cold intelligence and deadly intent.
Swish swish swish…
