Feng Yu's Thread Wings tore through the air, whipping up a violent gust as he dove to avoid the furious barrage from Reid.
At the same time, he directed his dive straight toward Carter.
"You're next."
Feng Yu's icy eyes locked onto Carter, a lethal gleam flashing in them.
Carter's Nen ability was water-based—a perfect counter to Feng Yu's Fire Release. Just like during the attack on Vance, if Carter hadn't extinguished the flames, Vance would've been burned alive even after Feng Yu ended his technique.
"Wing Slash!"
As Feng Yu closed in on Carter at high speed, something triggered in his instincts. He suddenly twisted midair, turned his Thread Wing like a blade, and slashed violently toward his left.
Whoosh!
Dylan suddenly materialized in the exact spot Feng Yu struck. His eyes widened in shock as the slicing wing came tearing toward him.
He had teleported there, intending to ambush Feng Yu mid-dive—unaware that Feng Yu had already anticipated the move through his danger sense.
Feng Yu's killing intent toward Dylan had grown strong.
Dylan's teleportation ability had made him one of the trickiest opponents to deal with, always attacking and then disappearing before Feng Yu could counter. Now was the chance to end that.
ZING!
As Feng Yu's Thread Wing carved toward Dylan, a blur shot up from the ground—appearing at Feng Yu's side almost instantly.
A sharp blade slashed upward, tearing through the air.
It was Nolan.
Like Dylan, Nolan had timed his interception carefully. Seeing Feng Yu about to strike, he launched himself with blinding speed and slashed with all his might.
"Flow!"
Feng Yu didn't slow down. Instead, his Nen surged like a dam bursting.
Despite the incoming sword slash, he pressed forward—channeling his full focus into the attack on Dylan.
SPLAT!
Thread tore, and blood sprayed.
Nolan's blade ripped into Feng Yu's Thread Armor at the neck, leaving a gaping tear. But in that same moment, Feng Yu's Wing Slash struck Dylan square in the chest, opening a deep, bloody wound.
"Aagh!!"
Dylan screamed as he fell, blood gushing from his chest as if he'd been gutted.
Despite pouring Nen into his defense, the Wing Slash tore through it, leaving a bone-deep gash.
Thread spilled out of Feng Yu's armor, repairing the tear at his neck almost instantly. Ignoring Nolan entirely, he dove after the falling Dylan.
The Thread Armor, empowered by Nen, had absorbed the worst of Nolan's strike. And because Feng Yu had anticipated the hit, he'd used Flow to concentrate extra Nen at his neck.
That was the only reason his head was still attached.
Similarly, Dylan had avoided being cut in half because Feng Yu had diverted some Nen away from the wings to protect himself. Even so, the injury was devastating.
Nolan was the strongest member of the Meteor Chase Team—and the hardest to deal with.
But Feng Yu wasn't interested in dueling him head-on. He had the advantage now and intended to press it.
Rat-tat-tat!
Reid opened fire with a rain of Nen bullets, and Carter followed with another water javelin.
"Quick reactions…"
Feng Yu's danger sense triggered again.
Time seemed to slow through his Mind Listening Technique.
He judged the trajectory instantly and started spinning midair before the water javelin even came close.
BOOM!
The spin created a roaring spiral of wind that lifted Feng Yu out of the line of fire, evading both the bullets and the javelin.
"Spiral Gun!"
Still spinning, Feng Yu kept his momentum, barreling down toward Dylan.
But just as he approached, Dylan vanished again.
Feng Yu's eyes flicked to one side—and he raised a hand, launching a Spiral Gun in that direction.
Whoosh!
"GAAAH!!"
Dylan reappeared where Feng Yu predicted, only to be struck through the chest by the Spiral Gun. It ripped straight through him and plunged into the ground, leaving a massive crater.
Dylan's body jerked backward, blood spraying from his mouth as he crashed into the earth.
With every enemy defeated, Feng Yu gained more control over the battlefield.
He had sensed Dylan's teleport pattern in advance—his danger sense allowed him to predict where the teleport would land and preemptively fire.
"Shadow Rider Line!"
Feng Yu's Thread Armor shimmered, then split away from his body like quicksilver.
In an instant, it separated into two humanoid clones—Shadow Riders—each one racing toward Nolan and Reid respectively.
As for Feng Yu himself—he landed and immediately launched toward Carter like a bolt of lightning.
"A clone?!"
"Damn it!"
Nolan and Reid recoiled in surprise as the Shadow Riders closed in with deadly precision.
"HRAAGH!!"
Reid roared, unleashing a wild burst of Nen bullets toward the clone charging him.
The Shadow Rider dodged nimbly, slipping through the barrage and narrowing the distance in seconds, its face unreadable and its movements eerily fluid.
