"That lord doesn't seem to have any ill intentions toward the young master. If he wanted to hurt him, he could've done it already!"
"If you contact him now, I'm afraid someone might come over to 'negotiate' with you directly!"
The guard captain, Pulitzer, was nearly in tears as he tried to stop the Provon family head from using a communication stone to summon Karos back.
"Silence!"
"Pulitzer! As Karos's sworn guardian knight, you abandoned your post during a crisis. What punishment do you think you deserve?!"
Provon Sullivan roared in fury.
"Family Head, if I hadn't run, I wouldn't care if I died—but the young master would've died too!"
Pulitzer's voice trembled with frustration.
Why wouldn't the Family Head believe him?! That man was terrifying beyond measure!
