Charlotte Yeaton spoke through gritted teeth, "It could cause trouble; what if rumors start flying everywhere?"
"If you don't say, and I don't say, who will know? The innocent are innocent. What are you afraid of? Even if it does spread, why worry if you're clear?"
Ivy River continued, "Or is it that there really is something between you two, and you're taking my advice?"
"No, nothing is going on between your brother and me!"
Charlotte Yeaton spoke intensely, "Ivy River, can you not jump straight to such intense topics? If I remember correctly, this is our third meeting."
"Yeah, it's the third time; your memory's pretty good."
"Well, I don't think we're close enough for this yet! Is it really okay to suddenly ask about my feelings like this?"
