Yang Fan gathered some stones to build a makeshift stove, placing an iron pot on top and cutting the fish into pieces to put in the pot. Due to the small size of the pot, only one fish could be cooked at a time.
"Take the bowl and fetch some fresh water. I'll look for some spices." After preparing these, Yang Fan entered the woods to see if he could find some tropical spices.
"Spices? Are there spices here?" Nie Yuling was somewhat skeptical.
"Just fetch your fresh water," Yang Fan said, turning to leave.
The lake was not far from the beach; Nie Yuling took two bowls and had to make two trips to fill the pot.
