"So what happened? You got separated from your group?"
"Are they close by?"
"That's odd, I could've sworn there were precautions for things like that."
The bickering continued until Azuri cut in with her own words, stopping everyone in their tracks.
"There was something that appeared that shouldn't have been there. Plain and simple. Dovetail protected Laurier, but then they fell deeper into the dungeon with whatever that thing was. Its look was something freakish, it even took me by surprise."
Terra took out a book and quickly flipped through the pages. This confused the others as she seemed to be frantically looking in the moment.
"Can you describe the look?"
"Uh…yes. It was rather large, with red eyes and rugged fur. It seemed to be in the shape of a bipedal beast. It towered over us in the dungeon…it was something I'd never seen before to be honest…"
"I see, if that's the case…did it look somewhat like this?"
She turned the book for the others to see, the page was covered in scribbles and writing, yet the monster's description matched what the book showed. The group looked at the book as Terra began to speak, seeming to know more on the monster than others.
"This is an Abominable Ape, they're the closest thing to what Azuri mentioned…but I'm not sure if it's exactly what she saw…maybe a variant from a lower floor?"
"It was close to this…but what we saw…seemed more violent than anything. Oddly enough, it was primarily targeting Laurier from what it seemed. We were preoccupied with banshees, thankfully Dovetail was on his toes and protected her."
"But why would it be targeting her…and if they're stuck with it…"
Thoughts flew in their minds as the others began to scratch their heads in confusion on what to do in the scenario. Azuri scanned the room, and noticed that Terra's group still had their orb following them as it waited above them to move. She furrowed her brows and looked at Terra who looked back, seemingly understanding what each wanted.
"Let's get to the bottom of this. We will help you find them. I'm assuming you sent the others to tell the professors."
"Correct. I thought it'd be more efficient to spread out since we'd at least have reinforcements coming in the worst case."
"As observant and logical as ever Miss Azuri! Though this would get in the way of our exam, and my romantic trials with Miss Terra, I'd hate to see my new rival be bested by anything or anyone but me! We will join you and bring them back to safety."
"Yeah, no man left behind!"
"You've got our help."
"I'm a bit worried, but more heads are better than less…"
The words of the group took a weight off of Azuri's shoulders, she seemed to relax a bit after talking with such an understanding group. She'd put a lot of stress on herself, hoping to put on a good showing for the higher ups as captain of her party. Though with such an unfortunate and peculiar happening, she couldn't help but be worried for their safety.
Terra and the others gathered their belongings before walking up to Azuri and following her command on getting back to the location. Feeling more refreshed and a bit more confident before having a capable group with her, their chances of uncovering where the two are only heightened.
"Follow me, I'll take you to where it all happened."
"Right."
