Two people sat inside the gazebo situated in the middle of the royal garden, both hard at thought.
While the man was thinking about the importance of God and his teachings, Aurelia's mind was taken by additional thoughts.
Aurelia shuffled herself closer to her beloved.
"Cedric! Would you please go to Golden Cup with me again..." She tapped her fingers against each other.
As long as she didn't call it a date, it wouldn't matter to Cedric, right?
She shook her head. What was the point of lying to Cedric?
She wanted a date with him.
She didn't want to trick him into going with her, but for him to go of his own will.
Of course, while she was a queen, she was expected to act appropriately as such; she decided to keep down her lust to the best of her ability.
She closed her bible before sighing.
"What's wrong, Aurelia?" Cedric tilted his head.
"I... Wanted to ask if you would go to Golden Cup with me... Just two of us?" Her eyes fixated on the bible as she rubbed her fingers across it.
Cedric leaned forward as he closed his own bible, "Why?"
Of course, he had suspicion; it was another one of her lust-filled outbursts.
"I... just wanted to... Never mind," She sighed.
Her expression soured, as if she were on the verge of tears.
Cedric wasn't blind to this; no, she did not deserve such treatment anymore.
What was the harm in indulging her once?
"Sure, why not? When do you want to go?"
Aurelia's eyes widened, and her lips curled into a wide smile. "Really?!"
"Of course, you deserve this much."
For a moment, she stared in silence while blinking slowly.
"Tonight then!" She spoke with the excitement laid bare.
"Sure..." Cedric's lips curled into a smile.
"Yay! Let me get ready! Wait here, I need you to check out outfits!" With those words, she rushed off.
As she rushed, Cedric could almost swear she heard her squeak.
Cedric raised his hand and pinched the bridge of his nose before placing his hands onto the bible.
"If I look past her lust, she is kind of adorable..."
Over the weeks, she had grown on him, his fingers traced the edge of the bible before opening the holy book once again.
Perhaps giving Aurelia this small favor would be a good time to relax, after all he had spent days constantly summoning Angels.
It felt mentally tiring.
However, no matter how tiring it was, for God's Mission, it was something he would do in a heartbeat.
As his eyes scanned the holy text, a stern voice reached him from behind.
"Father, Guardians have been assigned to the nobility. There is no chance of them working against The First Star."
Cedric turned to her, finding her with a hand on her chest and in a deep bow.
"There is no need to bow, Raguel. You are a Throne." He smiled. "Tell me, any news about movements of the pagan church?"
She shook her head, "Unfortunately, I have not received any further information about Church's movement."
"Unfortunate, but God will reveal all to us."
She took a moment, "Father, were you able to find a way to cut the source of corruption that is Chrunus?"
"Progress is slow; all we can do is hope for God's revelation." He clamped the bible shut before meeting Raguel's gaze.
"Understood, Father, I shall redouble my efforts." She bowed deeply, a hint of fear reaching him.
He intended to ask why she felt afraid, but he understood it after a moment of deliberation.
God's mission was progressing too slowly.
If anything, he was the weird one for not panicking, but he also understood that God's mission required time to be fulfilled to its full potential.
Rushing to complete it and, in turn, delivering anything less than perfection was heretical.
He crossed his arms. "Raguel, you needn't worry about the speed, as long as the mission is completed according to God's will."
Raguel fidgeted for a moment before bowing, "Understood, Father. I will take my leave now."
In a moment, she teleported, leaving Cedric alone.
He pushed against his knees, slowly rising from his seated position.
He felt rather restless. Cedric truly disliked his inability to punish Chrunus for his crime.
'I need to stop thinking about it... Despite it gnawing at me.' He sighed.
In the corner of his eye, he noticed Aurelia approaching, clearly trying to hide herself.
He shook his head as he pretended that he did not see her.
Aurelia approached behind him and seductively spoke, "Hello, my hero~"
"Aurelia..." Cedric pinched his nose before turning to her.
She spun, "What do you think?"
She wore an elegant red dress, with a black fur scarf adorning her shoulders.
On her head, she wore a rose flower circlet, its red petals accenting her natural beauty.
Around her neck, she wore a wooden cross much like Cedric's own he had gotten as a gift, and a single golden bracelet on her left wrist.
She smiled warmly as she awaited Cedric's response.
He raised his brow, scanning her from top to bottom.
His eyes landed on the cross before meeting her gaze once again, making the girl's cheeks turn slightly red.
Cedric closed his eyes while pushing air out of his nose.
He stared at the excited girl for a moment.
There was no point in destroying her confidence.
"You look great."
His words made Aurelia beam into a wide smile.
"Thank you, darling!" She turned on her heel. "But I do have 2 more dresses I wanted you to see! Please wait here." She rushed out once again.
Surprisingly, despite her mannerisms around him being similar to those before, she did not grind his gears nearly as much.
On the contrary, her presence felt enjoyable and even calming.
It was most certain due to her following the one true faith.
A sense of pride swelled in his chest.
Aurelia had become a true Christian, a warrior he would lay down his own life for.
