Chapter 124 - Sending a Message [2]

Cedric backed off, his expression of anger replaced by joy.

Aurelia, once a helpless little princess, was about to pass the justice of God onto the infidels who dared defy her.

He couldn't help but feel pride for her.

While his fury raged, he wouldn't take this moment from The First Star.

Cedric truly found solace in the fact that she was about to cut down the most heinous of Infidels.

'The strongest one is Level 70... not enough.' Cedric squinted as he observed the stats of the large Paladin that was about to attempt to foolishly fight Aurelia.

Paladins did not care about him; all present eyes were directed at Aurelia and the Paladins who were here to capture her.

It was time to see how far she had come with her immense power granted by God.

**

Aurelia took a deep breath; her beloved believed in her; it was everything she needed to succeed and push down her own anxiety.

'My beloved gifted me this blade... it was blessed by God, and now I feel nervous... It is funny in a way.' She smiled.

What reason did she have to be nervous, except that her beloved Cedric had watched her?

"A heretic is trying to resist the justice of Chrunus?!" Sale shouted, his voice cracking as if he was about to burst out laughing.

Aurelia took a fighting stance, her fingers wrapping tightly around the Zenith.

"Your little heresy of the Cross will collapse with you!" Sale cracked his neck before gripping his warhammer.

Aurelia's expression soured, "How dare you...YOU cretin... that so-called heresy is what my beloved believes in!" She took another deep breath, "I will take slander of my name and reputation as I do not have much to protect."

She took a steep forward, her voice shaking in anger, "But to attack my beloved's Christians?!"

With a final word, she charged.

A single flash of silver.

A mere moment was all it took.

Aurelia's blade cut through Sale like a hot knife through butter.

His body was diced into a hundred pieces in a mere moment.

But it was not over, She swung the zenith with such power that she sent a burst of wind through the entire Senate building, erasing a massive part of it.

Sale was gone... the remaining paladins stared in fear.

Their morale was broken as they tried to run.

However, both Cedric and Raguel stood on their way.

"No, no, Infidel face the First Star. You are not allowed to run." Cedric chuckled for a moment, he was truly happy.

In his joy, he found it hard to even show his fury to the Infidel.

Aurelia was amazing.

Someone who went from an infidel barely worth a thought to a true Christian on par or even better than him.

She was not born a Christian; she was an infidel living under the harsh rule of Pagan gods, she was neglected by her family, and despite that, she embraced Christ the moment she learned.

Her life was worth more than an entire infidel kingdom.

Aurelia dragged Zenith's edge across the floor as she approached the terrified paladins.

"Where is that bravado you had shown before? Where is your bravery you show when hunting the weak?!"

She did not enjoy acting like this, but these people spat at her Beloved's faith, and not only that, they proclaimed Christianity as heresy.

The same faith that brought her closer to Cedric and even granted her a new family.

Someone dared spit on it.

They deserved no mercy, they did not deserve her beloved's blade.

THEY did not deserve Raguel's judgment.

It was by her blade that they would go to hell.

"My beloved and mother will never need to stain their hands... while I live." She swung with Zenith once more, cutting another Paladin in half.

She was sick of being weak, looked down upon, and not taken seriously.

Before the senate began, Raguel had taught her another lesson.

'Third Lesson, Fear is a powerful tool. Make an example of those who defy you. Make those who survive fear you enough to never dare go against you.'

Her beloved had given her strength, and her new mother had granted her wisdom.

Nobody alive has the right to defy them.

No god nor mortal.

While it was difficult for her to act like she did now, she also knew that it was necessary.

She tried to emulate both Cedric and Raguel.

She had power, she had the tools, she had the faith in God.

It was all she needed.

Swish

Another Paladin fell.

"Stop! Chrunus will punish you for th..." His word was cut short as Zenith plunged into his chest.

Only one Paladin stood before her, his knees giving way as he collapsed.

Their morale, despite being strong, collapsed the moment someone massively more powerful than them attacked.

They were used to hunting the weak, and now they were in the presence of the First Star.

The title she will wear with pride in honor of her beloved and God Himself.

Paladin tried to crawl back.

And yet his body fell to the sides as the Zenith cut him in half.

Aurelia let out a satisfied sigh before swinging Zenith, clearing the blood.

A large part of the building might have been erased, but it did not matter.

Despite training daily on her control with Cedric, she still struggled to fully control it to his level.

'I need to train more...' She sighed before turning to the gathered nobles.

Most of them wore expressions of fear.

She approached Raguel before handing her the Zenith.

Aurelia stepped to the podium once again, "It is truly unfortunate that you would act against me..."

A tear dripped down her face.

She wished to save them all, but both Cedric and Raguel were present. Only Jole and Jarn would be spared.

Her gaze locked with Milan, who stared in disbelief, his eyes widening.

"Those who supported me shall remain. However..." Aurelia stepped close to the podium.

She truly wished to avoid this, and yet they refused to listen to Raguel's warnings.
