Alex and Acnologia continue to exchange blows after blows. In terms of skills, Alex isn't losing to Acnologia, but he is losing in power. He is getting pushed by Acnologia's attacks even though he has blocked them.
Well, Chomei's main power isn't physical strength like Gyuki, after all. Besides, with Alex's current level, he can't bring out Chomei's full power, or any of the Tailed Beasts' full power yet.

So he has a lot of experience fighting opponents that are physically stronger than him. He knows he can't completely block their attacks, so if he can't dodge either, he needs to reduce the impacts of their attacks when blocking.
By moving along following the attack's direction, he can greatly reduce the impact he receives, or it can be said he is parrying Acnologia's attacks. Sometimes, he can even use that impact to boost his attack power and return it to his opponent, just like now.
Knowing that he is losing in terms of power, Alex stops trying to contest his power with Acnologia. He still parries Acnologia's attack, but he does it while moving back, a little to the right, or left. By doing that, he reduces the impact of Acnologia's attacks.
But by doing that, their battle keeps moving left and right. With their sizes, they don't just move a little. In just a short time, they've already moved some kilometers from their initial positions and they are getting away from Ishgar.
Alex deliberately moved himself away from Ishgar and now the continent is behind Acnologia. This way, if Acnologia uses powerful long-range attacks, they won't reach Ishgar even if Alex dodges them.
He also makes sure that Acnologia's eyes are set on him by attacking Acnologia with physical attacks. Having 6 limbs really gives him a great advantage against Acnologia because he can use unexpected attacks using his extra limbs.
However, injuring Acnologia is another matter. While he manages to hit Acnologia many times, Chomei's sharp claws can't slice through Acnologia's scales easily. He can definitely scratch the scales, but cutting through them is hard.
Alex has even imbued his claw attacks with Chomei's wind magic to sharpen them, but it only works in the beginning. He could cut through Acnologia's scales with wind-magic enhanced claw attacks,
But after getting some cuts, Acnologia started coating his scales with magic power, strengthening his defense. So it becomes much harder for Alex to damage Acnologia even though his attacks can hit the Dragon.
It always feels like he is a normal person hitting an iron wall. The Tailed Beasts' abilities can damage Acnologia, but it's useless if they can't even touch his body.
'Of course, he has some tricks after fighting so many Dragons. With how good his body's condition is now after fighting so many Dragons in the past, he must have a good self-healing ability. Even so, there's no way he was totally unscathed after all those fights. So he must have a good defense spell to face those Dragons' powerful attacks.'
Also, he might have fought some Dragons at once. So without a good defensive ability, he would get some serious injuries. After all, the weakened Igneel could sever Acnologia's arm even if it cost his life, so if some Dragons worked together they should be able to do more.
Though there's also an assumption that Acnologia wasn't fighting the weakened Igneel seriously, it could still prove that his body could be severely damaged by Dragons if he doesn't use any skill, so he must have great defensive abilities and he uses one now.
Alex keeps being pushed back while parrying Acnologia's attacks. None of his attacks work now that Acnologia is using a defensive skill. Even Acnologia's attacks are getting stronger, showing that he was still holding back before and might still be holding back now.
Then suddenly, Acnologia pulls his head back before slamming it forward at Alex's Chomei head. Chomei's exoskeleton is very tough, so it doesn't crack even after receiving such a powerful headbutt.
However, it's strong enough to send Alex in his full Chomei form fly back quite far. Then while Alex is staggering, Acnologia takes a deep breath and shoots a powerful Dragon Roar.
Alex hurriedly makes a giant wind sphere to protect himself from the Dragon Roar. It does prevent the Dragon Roar from hitting him right away, but he is pushed back and gets sent flying very fast like a thrown ball.
Then not long after that, his wind sphere is broken and the Dragon Roar hits him. It creates a strong explosion, but not so massive because its power has been reduced by the wind sphere when it gets blocked.
Alex in his full Chomei form falls onto the sea and splashes a lot of water. He drowns into the sea for a moment before shooting out and flies higher again. There are some cracks in his exoskeleton, but he can't think about those now because Acnologia is chasing him.
Acnologia is flying after Alex while roaring excitedly. They have moved very far from Ishgar and the airships can't chase after them anymore now. This way, Alex doesn't need to mind his surroundings even if both he and Acnologia use wide-ranged powerful attacks.
When Acnologia is toward Alex's position, he suddenly sees something flying toward him from the front at a very high speed. It can't be seen clearly because its appearance blends with the bright sky, but Acnologia can still vaguely see that it's as big as an airship.
He can feel danger coming from the front, so he stops and uses his defensive magic coat again. Right when he does that, a giant energy ball that seems to be made of thousands of rotating lines and has a sharp spinning wind saw on it arrives in front of him.
It's a gigantic Rasen-shuriken, Naruto's skill that Alex recreates using Chomei's Wind Release. All the Tailed Beasts know how to use Rasengan because they were in Naruto's body for a while and he used that jutsu.
He even made Rasengan using the Tailed Beasts' unique chakra to make different types of Rasengan. Though only Kurama truly understands how this skill works because he was always with Naruto, so he taught it to Alex who now can use it and combine it with the Tailed Beasts' unique elements.
Chomei being the one who has the wind release is the one who can help Alex recreate Rasen-Shuriken. Kurama also has Wind Release, but Chomei's Wind Release is the strongest.
Even Acnologia is alerted by this Rasen-Shuriken because he can sense how dangerous it is. He blocks it with his magic-coated palms and squeezes his claws into the rotating giant wind shuriken. But it keeps pushing forward and trying to cut his palm and claws.
Acnologia is actually being pushed back by the giant Rasen-shuriken. So he roars and puts more power into his claws and finally shatters the wind-shuriken. Little did he know that it actually just makes the energy in the giant Rasen-shuriken go berserk.
As a result, a powerful explosion happens when Acnologia breaks the wind-shuriken. The explosion that's created is in the form of a massive sphere that engulfs Acnologia. Inside the sphere is rampaging wind blades that go everywhere like a storm.
Because Acnologia focused too much on putting his power to destroy the Rasen-shuriken, he neglected his defense a bit. As a result, the rampaging wind blades are cutting through his scales.
Though the cuts are shallow, very shallow even that most of them can't get past his skin. But there are still many that actually cut through his thinner scales and skin, making some of his blood out of those shallow cut wounds.
The rampaging wind blade explosion disappears soon and instead of being enraged, Acnologia seems to be excited. These damages are so shallow he can't even feel pain from them. But it has been a very long time since he even got injured.
Furthermore, he is facing someone who uses unknown magic that can damage himself. This is the most thrill he has felt in hundreds of years. Even Zeref can't give him this level of excitement now. They've fought so many times that it becomes boring for him.
Acnologia roars excitedly before flying toward Alex again. On the other hand, Alex doesn't feel as happy as Acnologia. After all, he just makes this situation worse.
