I didn't want to get out of bed. I just couldn't. The fight in me had been exhausted a very long time ago and even though I knew I had responsibilities I didn't feel like conquering any of them. I couldn't and I wouldn't.
My cheek hurt like hell today. I was used to the beatings. Trust me I had gotten worse from Dad but the fact Edward had seen it just made it worse. I had physical and mental pain this time around and I couldn't just shake it off like how I was used too.
No one had seen or physically heard Dad when he had one of his violent rants. Gabe was always the first to see the result of them and clean them up back in high school. Sometimes I would leave home and go straight to his house when I was desperate to have peace.
