And his reported ability was 'air manipulation', which was an elemental type, not a psychic, so it wouldn't grant him any extra defense against hypnosis as some of the mind abilities might. With the monsters' hypnotic ability filling the air, he should have long been hypnotized. Every other A-ranker had been, and there were some Espers on the team who were more powerful than Lane allegedly was. Not by much, but still.
It made no sense that Lane was still alright.
