"Damn it, the mother entity can actually summon a swarm of insects!"
Stio cursed under his breath and immediately attempted to control the metal storm to destroy the mother entity.
Under the current conditions, it was no longer feasible for them to seal the mother entity.
But as soon as he made his move, a thick energy barrier appeared around the mother entity. The barrier was transparent, yet it acted like a solid wall, blocking all the metal particles.
"Let me handle this!"
Shaping Wizard Robby, seeing this, burst into blue flames. With a virtual grab of his right hand, a black flame appeared in his palm.
A nearby two-faced Wizard, upon seeing this flame, couldn't help but exclaim, "What a formidable flame!"
This Wizard, on his way forward, had his back face spewing flames. His flames were crimson red, with an incredibly high temperature. Even the trees with energy-devouring properties would sever their own limbs to protect themselves upon encountering his flames, showing no intention of devouring them.
For Robby's flame to be called formidable by him, it must indeed be extraordinary.
Sure enough, as Robby infused magic power into the flame, it rapidly expanded to the size of a human head in less than a second.
Its terrifying temperature even distorted the space around it.
Robby threw the flame towards the mother entity, and the flames on his body suddenly dimmed.
This attack had almost drained all his magic power.
"Prepare to retreat. I've enhanced this flame with the rules of fire elements, and its power has reached a level of ten thousand. This thing, no matter what..."
Before Robby could finish his sentence, he froze in place.
The black flame traced a dark trajectory in the air, like a dark meteor, and heavily struck the mother entity.
The energy barrier outside the mother entity was instantly burned through by the flame, and the black flame successfully adhered to the mother entity.
And then... there was no then.
The mother entity also possessed energy-devouring properties, and this characteristic was even stronger than that of its offspring. After being tainted by the flame, the mother entity was not much injured, but the flame itself diminished significantly.
Richard even saw that the somewhat wilted mother entity actually became more spirited under the flame.
Seeing this, Stio decisively said, "Let's go! This thing is beyond our capability. We need the White Wizard Legion to handle it!"
Richard, witnessing this, was also greatly shocked. He quickly sent a mental message to Ulysses, asking, "Ulysses, can you deal with this thing?"
Ulysses's response made his heart sink.
"Difficult," Ulysses said, looking at the mother entity and slightly shaking his head. "This thing is far more complex than you think. To eradicate it, even I would have to put in some effort."
"This thing is that strong?" Richard asked, somewhat incredulously.
"Unfortunately, at the demigod stage, even I can misjudge."
Richard's expression turned grave. "It seems we have no choice but to leave."
"Not necessarily," Ulysses said calmly. "Although I can't quickly resolve this thing, the old mushroom in the Secret Realm should be able to handle it with ease.
I suspect this thing is an offspring of this world's World Tree. The old mushroom and it are of the same kind."
Upon hearing this, Richard suddenly understood.
Yes, how could he have forgotten about the World Mushroom? Although the World Mushroom resides in the Secret Realm, its tendrils can still reach out.
Although the tentacles of the World Mushroom were not as powerful as Ulysses, they were far more effective against this particular type of enemy.
After a moment of thought, Richard suddenly spoke up, "Wait, don't leave. I can handle this. Give me twenty seconds!"
"You can handle it?" Stio looked at Richard in astonishment. "Weren't you studying alchemy before? What are you going to use to deal with this? Weed killer?"
Richard had once told Stio that he was an Alchemist Wizard before he started researching physical evolution.
But even an Alchemist Wizard would be helpless in this situation.
Against the defenses of this mother entity, Stio couldn't think of any other solution besides the White Wizard Legion using concentrated spells to trigger an Elemental Storm.
"Richard, are you sure?" Robbie also chimed in. "My flame energy level is at least ten thousand, which is quite impressive even among Third Circle Wizards. You've just been promoted to the Third Circle, so you'd better think carefully before acting."
Clearly, Robbie also had doubts about Richard's capabilities.
On the other side, the two-faced Wizard didn't speak, but his gaze at Richard was equally filled with concern.
It couldn't be helped, after all, Richard was a newly promoted Third Circle Wizard. Richard's voice was low as he said, "Everyone, rest assured, I won't risk my life recklessly."
With that, Richard didn't wait for their reactions. He used Shadow Step to instantly appear beside the mother entity.
The remaining three Wizards, seeing his confidence, though still worried, positioned themselves to guard his flanks.
Twenty seconds wasn't a long time, and even if delayed, it wouldn't cause much trouble. But if Richard succeeded, it would significantly lighten the burden on the main battlefield.
It would be a monumental achievement!
Richard stood beside the mother entity and suddenly opened a tiny Spatial Rift.
The rift was highly unstable due to the surrounding energy disturbances, as if it could collapse at any moment.
But fortunately, Richard didn't need much time.
A mycelium tentacle extended from the Spatial Rift.
"Master, what do you need me to do?"
Richard pointed at the vine mother entity in front of him.
"Deal with this thing!"
"Yes."
Upon receiving the clear command, the World Mushroom's mycelium tentacle instantly expanded. The Wizards watched as Richard pointed at the mother entity, and a terrifying tentacle emerged from the void, grabbing hold of the vine mother entity.
With a forceful pull, the tentacle uprooted the vine mother entity, its massive roots resembling the veins of the earth rising from the ground.
Then, under the immense strength of the tentacle, the tough roots were torn apart.
Once disconnected from its roots, the vine mother entity was swiftly dragged into the void by the tentacle.
"What... what is that?" Stio exclaimed in shock.
"It must be the appendage of one of those indescribable entities from the Astral World," the two-faced Wizard murmured. "I never expected Wizard Richard to have such a deep understanding of the occult, even managing to form a partnership with an indescribable entity."
"No wonder he was so confident," Robbie muttered, his mind reeling. "This newly promoted Third Circle Wizard is no ordinary figure."
Seeing the World Mushroom store the mother entity in the Secret Realm, Richard finally breathed a sigh of relief.
As long as it could be dealt with, it wasn't a major problem.
But his relief was short-lived, as his expression quickly turned serious again.
Although the World Mushroom had dealt with the vine mother entity, the insect swarm it had summoned didn't dissipate with its disappearance.
On the contrary, after the disappearance of the vine mother entity, the Wizards in the forest immediately noticed a peculiar substance in the air.
This substance seemed to be emitted by the offspring of the vine mother entity, spreading through the forest at an astonishing rate.
All bio-weapons that came into contact with this substance instantly became frenzied.
Among them, Richard and his companions were the most affected.
"Damn it, frenzy potion!" Stio cursed, swinging his hammer staff fiercely, reorganizing the already dissipated metal storm.
Outside the storm, frenzied poisonous insects were surging towards them like a tide.
After becoming frenzied, these insects' speed increased dramatically. Originally at a distance, they reached Richard and his companions in an instant, faster than a flood.
The rapidly rotating metal storm, like a meat grinder, shredded the incoming insect swarm.
But soon, Stio was drenched in sweat.
He pulled out a handful of Magic Essence from his pocket and stuffed it into his mouth.
A massive amount of Magic Power, guided by both his physical cells and mental strength, rapidly flowed into Stio's Mana Recirculation.
Even so, his Magic Power recovery rate still couldn't keep up with his consumption rate.
"I'll help you."
Robbie and the dual-faced Wizard shouted simultaneously.
Robbie, holding Magic Essence in one hand and waving his staff with the other, caused faint flames to appear within the metal storm.
Seeing this, Stio quickly shouted, "Don't set fire in my iron sand! Haven't you studied alchemy? Fire demagnetizes magnets!"
Hearing this, Robbie immediately stopped his actions, "Sorry, sorry, I forgot about that."
Meanwhile, the dual-faced Wizard quietly swallowed the flames in his mouth and instead spat out a burst of lightning.
Seeing this, Richard couldn't help but find it amusing.
These Third Circle Wizards, so engrossed in their own fields of study, had forgotten such basic knowledge.
With the help of the two Wizards, Stio's pressure lessened somewhat, at least enough to barely maintain the metal storm.
But soon, an uninvited guest broke through the metal storm into the eye of the storm.
It was a centipede-like insect, but unlike a centipede, it had two scorpion-like pincers at the front.
"A third-level insect!" Stio shouted.
But Richard was faster than his voice.
As Stio called out, Richard and Ulysses rushed to the third-level insect.
Richard and Ulysses exchanged a glance, and Ulysses suddenly extended his crow claw, tearing open the insect's carapace.
In response, the insect sprayed a cloud of pale purple mist from its mouthparts.
But the next moment, a golden fist pierced through the toxic mist. Following the wound Ulysses had torn, it instantly turned the insect's internal glands into pulp.
Robbie waved his hand, and flames appeared in the air, burning away the toxic mist.
"Such a clean move," the dual-faced Wizard praised.
"Just a small trick," Richard replied casually.
Among the insect swarm, there were no shortage of third-level insects. Whenever they encountered these, Richard and Ulysses would join forces to kill them on the spot.
Bang! A golden fist smashed the insect that had charged into the eye of the storm.
Richard was panting heavily, struggling to maintain his flight.
The Spellcraft of the Diamond Body, though highly effective, did not consume Magic Power but rather the vitality of his cells.
This drawback was not noticeable in short, high-intensity battles, but in prolonged endurance fights, it became glaringly obvious.
Unlike Magic Power, which could be sustained indefinitely with Magic Essence, the recovery of cell vitality required time and a substantial amount of high-quality food.
Beside him, the other Wizards were also in poor condition. Especially Stio, whose brain was even emitting steam.
Maintaining such a wide-ranging Spell required an immense amount of mental energy.
"Damn it, why hasn't the support from the command center arrived yet?" Richard cursed as he looked at the Crystal Ball.
He had called for support from the White Wizards at the command center three hours ago.
Yet, three hours had passed, and he hadn't even seen a shadow of them.
If this continued, they would all be overwhelmed by the insects.
Just as Richard finished speaking, the Crystal Ball in his hand transmitted a voice from the command center.
["Wizard Richard, the support you called for is in position. Please maintain your current location to avoid friendly fire."]
Hearing this, Richard looked up at the sky and saw a rain of fireballs flying in from the distance.
"All Wizards, prepare! Direction straight ahead, distance thirty-five, Spell type Fireball, three rounds release!"
"Three, two, one, release!"
