Chapter 274 - Chapter 273: Nightmare!

[Whiplash of the Skies]:Damn, that guy's insane! Did you see the video on the forum? He's cracked! Also… isn't he quite good-looking?

[I'm Really Not A Sword Fairy]:This is broken. What kind of ridiculous luck is this? Is no one else in the group awakening abilities except you?!

[Overlord]:It's not that no one has awakened abilities, for the past few days, many have been showing off their awakened abilities on the forum. But even the awakened ones only got C-tier or D-tier skills—B-tier is already god-tier. And now this guy awakened an S-rank?! What the fack?!

[Dahen]:Damn it! This is unfair!

[JustIan]:Tch, if that video lasted even one more second, your real limits would've been exposed. That skill of yours only lasts a few seconds, right?

[Whiplash of the Skies]:Jealousy detected! Don't let my brilliance blind you!

The chat was in absolute chaos, with Ray Theon flexing non-stop while the rest of the group was filled with envy.

Some were already planning to settle scores in Somi, eager to teach him a lesson.

But just then, Meimei appeared, instantly shifting everyone's focus.

[Meimei]:What are you guys even talking about? What awakened abilities?

[Crow]:Meimei! Hugging your thigh! Meimei, did you finish your job change yet?!

[Meimei]:Well… SSS-tier job changes are just too damn difficult, so I had to settle for second best—an SS-tier job.

[Zezelia]:!!!!

Silence.

Crow didn't respond.

Meimei didn't say another word either.

Obviously, Crow had immediately gone to private chat.

A few minutes later, while Novak was still lurking in the chat, he got a direct message from Crow.

[Crow]:Brother White, you there?!

[White Emperor]: "…"

This guy was impatient as hell.

But honestly, it was understandable.

Crow had been stuck at level 10 for over a month now, waiting at the threshold for his advancement.

Despite having an SS-tier talent, he had no way forward, and everyone knew how frustrated he must have been.

Novak had originally planned to ask Meimei about her new profession and growth potential—

But seeing how desperate Crow was, he figured he could only wait.

Sure enough, Meimei didn't waste time.

She activated her Dream-Stealing Totem.

A familiar wave of hypnosis washed over Novak—

His vision blurred—

And in the next moment—

He found himself in a completely different place.

Crow, Meimei, and Novak had connected through dreams before.

So it didn't take long for them to gather in the same space.

They were inside a luxurious villa—Crow's home.

Novak wasn't sure how wealthy Crow had been before the apocalypse, but it didn't really matter.

In the current world, real estate was free—

You could just take any place you wanted.

Crow had obviously claimed this one.

Ignoring Crow's attempted greetings, Novak got straight to the point.

"Meimei, how did the job change go?"

Meimei still seemed a bit out of it.

After all, in her dream world, she had been asleep for nearly half a month.

It left her disoriented, but she quickly snapped back and nodded.

"The job change is complete."

Then, she sighed.

"The SSS-tier job change required me to kill a million dream monsters… and also fight and defeat a level-15 version of myself in a dream."

"I tried multiple times, but it was just too difficult, so I gave up."

"Instead, I took an SS-tier job—Nightmare."

Meimei had absolute trust in Novak.

Without hesitation, she sent him all the details about her new profession.

Nightmare (SS) – The Ultimate Dreamwalker

[Nightmare (SS)]:

Mental Power Growth: +35Free Attribute Point Growth: +20

[Dream-Eating (Class Ability)]:

Can devour other people's useless dreams.Permanently enhances a certain attribute based on the dream's size.Integrates the absorbed dream into one's own and freezes it permanently.

[Dream Blade (Class Skill)]:(Active)

Can be used within dreams, with no casting time.Instantly kills any opponent with lower mental power upon impact. If mental power is equal, deals massive spiritual damage, cuts the dream apart, and reduces the opponent's mental power.Instant kill effect has secondary priority.Cooldown: 2 minutes.

[Dream Shield (Class Skill)]:(Passive)

Active within dreams.Any creature with lower mental power than the Nightmare cannot harm the user.

[Dream Descend (Class Skill)]:(Active)

Forces a specific area or chosen creatures into a dream state. The effectiveness depends on the user's mental power.

Novak nodded in approval.

There was no doubt—this class was a perfect fit for Meimei's talent.

If Dreamwalker gave Meimei absolute control over the dream world—allowing her to manipulate reality, maintain immortality in dreams, boost drop rates, teleport through dream-shuttling, and even connect to dungeons—

Then Nightmare drastically enhanced her combat capabilities inside dreams.

Though some abilities and talents overlapped, it wasn't redundancy—it was amplification.

One plus one didn't just equal two—it was exponential growth.

Novak turned to Meimei and asked,

"This dream connection—where we're linked to Crow's subconscious—is this considered a 'dream'? Can you use your abilities here?"

Meimei nodded without hesitation.

"Of course. This is a dream, so my talent works just fine! I can also use my two dream-exclusive skills."

She paused briefly before adding,

"However… even though this is a dream, it follows my rules. Brother Novak, if you or Crow die here, you'll die in reality as well."

"That's just how my dream works."

Crow was stunned into silence.

His first instinct was to complain—why was Novak addressed as Brother Novak while he was just Crow?

But standing at the edge of the dark building, he wasn't in the mood for jokes.

Novak simply nodded.

"Good. That puts my mind at ease. Otherwise, I wouldn't have let you enter this dungeon."

[Note: Meimei has an ability that when she dies in a dream, she won't die but only will wake up from her dream.]

Crow hesitated.

"Brother White, is this Black Tower really that dangerous? I mean, with your strength…"

Novak's expression grew serious.

"I have a strong feeling that it will be extremely dangerous. You need to be prepared."

He glanced at Crow.

"I don't know why your class progression is tied to this dungeon, but we can't afford to be careless."

His tone was firm.

"As for Meimei and me, we'll be fine."

Crow took a deep breath. Seeing Novak's solemn expression, he nodded.

Without another word, the three left the villa, following Crow to a deserted tube building.

Without hesitation, Crow pulled out a scroll and crushed it.

In an instant—

A dark aura engulfed the structure.

The once ordinary, run-down building was instantly transformed—

A shadowy, ominous structure, barely four stories high, now stood in its place.

Its walls were pitch-black, seemingly capable of devouring all light.

Then—

A black vortex swirled into existence before them.

The entrance to the secret realm had appeared.

Hell-Level Secret Realm: The Black Tower (Lv. 10-20)

[Would you like to enter?]

[Yes.]
