Even Momoshiki couldn't suppress his intense craving for this Ten-Tails. It was terrifyingly powerful, its sheer might undeniable. Yet, Momoshiki wasn't the only one who coveted its strength; Isshiki desired it too. Compared to Momoshiki, however, Isshiki remained far calmer, his mind already racing.
As he observed the creature before them, an incredibly audacious thought sparked within Isshiki: What if they fed Kaguya's previous Ten-Tails to this new one? Could its power surge even further?
Members of the Otsutsuki clan evolved to higher states of being by consuming the Chakra Fruit of a Divine Tree. Could a Ten-Tails evolve similarly by consuming another Ten-Tails? No Otsutsuki had ever attempted such a thing before. The universe was vast, practically infinite. Even if the Otsutsuki numbered in the trillions, they would still be scattered so thinly across the cosmos that ensuring even three clansmen existed within the same galaxy was impossible. Consequently, the idea of feeding one Ten-Tails to another simply hadn't occurred or seemed feasible.
But Isshiki was different. He desperately wanted to try this experiment. Perhaps it would yield unexpected results.
As Momoshiki, Kinshiki, Isshiki, and Kaguya combined their powers to summon the new Ten-Tails, elsewhere, two figures observing the world – Otsutsuki Koshiki and Otsutsuki Shibai – frowned simultaneously.
"Lord Koshiki," Shibai began, "that sensation just now... could it be...?"
Koshiki's expression turned grave. "Someone actually summoned an Annihilation-level Ten-Tails? Are they trying to obliterate this entire sector of the universe?"
The Ten-Tails! In Otsutsuki history, they were akin to parasitic entities, relying on the Otsutsuki clan for survival in a peculiar form of coexistence. The Otsutsuki constantly sought planets rich in life energy for the Ten-Tails to absorb. They even sacrificed their own kin to evolve the Ten-Tails into a Divine Tree, harvesting its fruit to achieve higher levels of power themselves. In truth, this relationship often seemed more like the Otsutsuki were being used as free labor for the Ten-Tails' continuous evolution. While the Otsutsuki evolved, so did the Ten-Tails. Even when the final Chakra Fruit was consumed by an Otsutsuki, the vast energies flowing within the Divine Tree had already strengthened the Ten-Tails itself. How else could it repeatedly devour the energy of entire planets?
Over eons, some Ten-Tails, having consumed hundreds of worlds, evolved to an unimaginable state – designated as Annihilation-level. Often, their Otsutsuki partners, their co-existents, perished through various means, leaving these immensely powerful Ten-Tails behind, sealed away. When an Otsutsuki's bonded Ten-Tails died, these ownerless behemoths could be summoned as replacements, forming a new symbiotic bond. This was the nature of Ten-Tails summoning.
Typically, Otsutsuki required to submit Chakra Fruits to the main clan were forbidden from using their own Ten-Tails, which were kept secured within the clan's domain. They had to rely on summoning available, unattached ones. This explained why Kaguya and Isshiki summoned a Ten-Tails when they first arrived in the ninja world, rather than using their personal ones. However, as a high-ranking clan member, Isshiki's own Ten-Tails wasn't confiscated; it was merely kept at the "Origin Place," the birthplace of the Otsutsuki clan. That was how Isshiki, after being betrayed by Kaguya, could later summon another Ten-Tails – he had called forth his own beast from the Origin Place.
An ownerless Ten-Tails could be summoned by any Otsutsuki. But if its master still lived, only that specific master could summon it. Furthermore, regardless of distance or location, a master could summon their Ten-Tails with a single thought.
The creature summoned this time, through the combined power of four Otsutsuki, was one of these Annihilation-level Ten-Tails. It was no ordinary beast. Once it took root, it would devour the entire star system, eventually creating a spatial wormhole to draw energy from the wider cosmos using its immense gravitational pull.
Controlling such a Ten-Tails was beyond the capabilities of ordinary Otsutsuki. In fact, it had been a very long time since any clan member possessed the strength to command a beast of this magnitude. If the summoners lacked the power to control an Annihilation-level Ten-Tails, the beast might even devour them first. Once it transformed into a Divine Tree, the Otsutsuki who summoned it would likely become its first meal.
The Otsutsuki hierarchy was incredibly strict, and the same applied to the Ten-Tails. Lower-level Ten-Tails were nothing more than food to higher-level ones. Similarly, a high-level Ten-Tails facing a lower-level Otsutsuki master would view them as sustenance. This wasn't considered betrayal; the Ten-Tails simply saw the weaker Otsutsuki as a necessary sacrifice to fuel its own growth, allowing it to cultivate a more potent Chakra Fruit for a stronger Otsutsuki to eventually consume.
Koshiki scoffed, "Those fools... they're utterly insane!"
Shibai looked perplexed. "Why summon an Annihilation-level Ten-Tails if they clearly lack the power to control it?"
Koshiki shook his head, equally baffled. "Perhaps something has gone wrong within the Otsutsuki clan... Perhaps something happened back at the Origin Place." His gaze shifted towards the direction of Konoha. "We'll find answers eventually. For now, all we can do is watch patiently."
Back in the alternate dimension, Momoshiki stared at the colossal Ten-Tails. "Its power is too immense," he declared. "This world alone might not satisfy its hunger, possibly preventing it from even forming a Chakra Fruit!"
Kinshiki nodded in agreement. "It is indeed unprecedentedly powerful."
Kaguya turned to Isshiki, who had remained silent. "Lord Isshiki, what do you propose we do?"
Isshiki finally pulled his gaze away from the Ten-Tails and looked at the others. "There is a way, naturally," he stated calmly. "This single world might not be enough... but what about the power of three worlds?"
Three worlds? Perhaps the energy from three worlds could satiate this monstrous Ten-Tails, allowing it to condense an unparalleled, supremely powerful Chakra Fruit.
Momoshiki frowned. "What do you mean?"
Isshiki smirked slightly, reminding him. "Don't forget, this world contains Tailed Beasts. Double the Tailed Beasts, in fact! Having the Ten-Tails consume their power is equivalent to absorbing the energy of two worlds already. Then, have it consume the other Ten-Tails, root itself in the heart of this planet, and absorb all its energy."
"That should provide enough power to condense the Chakra Fruit!"
Ah, yes, the Tailed Beasts. They were, fundamentally, fragments of the Ten-Tails' own power. Devouring them would be effortless.
"Then let's begin!" Momoshiki urged, seeming impatient.
But Isshiki held up a hand, stopping him. "Not so fast. The inhabitants of this world... they are currently engaged in internal conflict. Do not underestimate them; the power they possess could still pose a threat to us."
He paused, a calculating look in his eyes. "Why not let them expend some of their strength fighting each other first? Just to be... absolutely certain... of our success."
