Evey other day, Afshin comes by with some document for Banou to conclude if it is possible to work in Tang. They stay on discussion in their own language. The twin boys who are curious always stay behind the wall even the hot sun is blazing down on their neck. They are the little spy for their father. Everything that is happening in the mansion regarding to their mother, they will report to him when he is back home. So in the end, they can get a horse ride around the streets. Sometimes, Li Jun will come by with her favourite snacks. Again the twin boys will hide one corner and observe what they see. From all those spying and observing how men react to their mother on the street, they concluded that everyone wants to know their mother. Those men will always smiling and try to small talk with her anything. So the twins have to be difficult so that she will move along.
When their father returns back from camp, the boys report everything. Li Cheng is satisfy that outside the mansion, his sons are able to keep those men with minima conversations. while others, he have to think how to keep them out of his mansion when he is not around. While thinking and listening to his sons.He squint his eyes and look at the garden. He see his wife at the garden reading her book but the gardener is looking at her and trying to talk to her. He sigh and it looks like he might have to change the maids to do the gardening.
In the morning before the sun is up, Banou gets up to see her husband doing his exercise along with his men and the sons of this mansion. She smile but she frown when she see the maids are all up and hiding behind pillars or pretending to do their house work. They are all drooling. She close the door and wonder how to get the maids away from staring at the half naked men who are exercising. While outside when the couple goes out to take the family out for walks, Banou feels irritated when noble ladies comes out from no where and begin to talk to Li Cheng. Ever since few years back that he had taken in a concubine, women have been trying to get his attention. The older boys will feel shy and embarrassed that something like this still happens to their father. Even there are noble ladies who come into the mansion uninvited to talk to Banou hinting about having another concubine in the mansion. She swallow her anger and talk nicely as possible.
Afshin who comes every other day never talks about any other things except for the work to be done. Whoever every time he sees her, it reminds him that they are supposed to get married but her siblings interfere and he married a princess who knows nothing but to get angry with little things. After two years of getting married to Azedeh, suddenly he was told that he married the wrong princess and the actual person he supposed to marry is Princess Banou. He was delighted but again he heard that she was send to exiled many years ago and never be found. He was regretful how did they miss each other in a strange twist and turn. Now she is standing with him in the same country but she is married to another and he is a widower for fifteen years. His son is now fifteen. Seeing her again, is like in the past when they are in the library. When she was a little girl, she have a lot of questions. Now she have to approve some trading contracts whether they will benefit the Persian merchants or not. Things have change between them. However over the years, she is like a flower that blooms and never fade. Her warm smile continue to bring joy to him. He understand this is the kind of relationship they can have for now. Thus he only can watch her from a distance.
For Li Jun, many years have past. He thought that his heart will let Banou go after he leave the capital and live with his eldest son in AnPeng county but he did not forget her. Some nights, he wakes up remembering that the person beside him is not the girl he bought from the silk route. Spending his days playing with his grandchild helps to take off things in his mind but when the night comes it's another struggling night. After returning to the capital he hear stories of Banou being kidnapped under his brother's nose. He was angry and upset but there is nothing he can do. In Persia, He forced himself to be thick skinned to follow her around. When he can't do anything he watch her from where he is. Till the day her sister try to struggled her, he realised how useless he is. Now back in the capital, he feel that he should see her as much as he can. There is not telling when they will be separated again.
There is a day when the three men come to see Banou. Each demanding her attention. She finds it strange like children who needs her help in doing things. Thus after a while, she avoid them whenever she can. It becomes a cat and mouses game with her. She ask Wang MoMo to take messages or if documents that require urgently for her to see. She wait till night falls and creep back to her room. However she cannot avoid one person that is Li Cheng. Despite at this age, behind close doors, he is still like the man she married years ago. His passion never die and Banou is wiling to be ravaged by him only.
