My name is Diona. I am a demon.
My family and I once lived in peace and happiness… until the humans came. They slaughtered my kind. I still remember the sight of my mother and father, crying out in agony as their lives were taken. I was beaten, then sold into slavery. Tortured by many men, I began to hate them all. But in time, I learned—monsters do not belong to one gender.
When a woman bought me, I thought salvation had come. I was wrong. Her cruelty surpassed anything I'd known. She used strange tools to torment me, then cast me out onto the streets like garbage. I survived by stealing food, hiding in shadows. But one day, humans found me again. They beat me mercilessly. As I lay there, gazing at the bright sun, I truly believed it was the end.
Then, everything turned dark. The pain stopped. For the first time, I felt… safe.
I looked up—and saw a figure cloaked in shadows, protecting me. Then, my world faded to black as I lost consciousness.
When warmth wrapped around me again, I awoke just long enough to hear a voice say:
"Justice doesn't see race. It sees right and wrong."
Those were the words I heard before I slipped back into the darkness.
Now, I find myself lying in a warm bed, inside a palace. The comfort I feel is foreign, but soothing. I had been born without a voice, unable to understand language. But when I heard the Shadow Whisper—soft, echoing, mysterious—I understood everything. I approached it, drawn in, and was gently lifted like a child. In the arms of that figure, I felt true warmth for the first time in my life.
I know peace cannot bloom in war… but I want this feeling to last. I want to protect this fragile warmth.
Now I'm feeling sleepy, wrapped in their arms.
Good night… Mr. Good Guy.
Meanwhile, at the Grave of the Kingdom of War…
"When was the last time I awakened?" the voice echoed from the armored corpse.
"My empire has been attacked… again."
A soul floated forward.
"Commander," it spoke.
The ancient body, clad in rusted armor, stirred. Its voice carried absolute command—the tone of a true leader, unwavering and cold.
"So… we are awake," the commander declared. "My army, you have the right."
"Yes, Commander!" the souls of the fallen responded in unison.
"What threatens us this time?" the commander asked.
"The gods have attacked Earth. Our kingdom is struggling to hold the line."
A burst of aura exploded from the commander, thick with fury.
"How dare they strike at my empire!" he bellowed. "I will rip those gods apart, as I did their angels in the last war!"
"Commander, please—calm yourself," one of the souls urged. "We cannot defeat them alone."
"I know," the commander said slowly. "But I can feel it… there is someone. Someone out there who will stand with us."
"What do you mean, Commander?"
"The gods have retreated. There is no current war. That means someone forced them back."
He stood tall, resolute.
"I, the Commander of this Empire, will defend it until my very soul is gone! Army of War, prepare yourselves. We march to save our kingdom!"
With a thunderous voice, he shouted:
"For the Empire!"
And the dead answered:
"For the Empire!"
Meanwhile, in a distant castle…
"Someone…
Please… save my…
My brother…
Anyone… save him…"
To be continued…
