Hattori Si's family was very ordinary.
His father was an accountant at a small factory, and his mother was a worker at a tailoring factory. Including him, there were four brothers and sisters, and he was the eldest.
With low income and many children, poverty was inevitable, so Hattori Si's childhood was not happy.
He knew from a young age that his parents' lives were not easy, so he studied very hard, but perhaps due to limited talent, he did not excel academically. Instead, he chose to join the army, where his excellent physical conditioning and spirited energy made him the bodyguard of Ueda Hikoshu, which was barely a point of pride for his family.
Experiencing it firsthand, life in the army was tough.
But after following Ueda Hikoshu, he witnessed that military life could be less tough, and the difference between hardship and ease lay in whether one was a regular soldier or an officer.
