Neither possibility was good news for him. If Miyazaki Yu had been killed in retaliation by the Violent Gangs, Jing Shang might be forced to step out from behind the scenes; otherwise, the business that had just started to look up would almost certainly come to a halt.
If Miyazaki Yu had been caught by the police, on the other hand, Jing Shang feared that he wouldn't withstand the violent interrogations and would betray himself.
After all, Miyazaki Yu was a dope fiend—once he got a craving, all the police needed to do was tempt him with a little product, and he'd spill everything, even what underwear his wife wore.
