Logan slammed his fist against the glowing shield a few more times, testing its durability before blinking away—his signature combo of Darkness Arrow and Shadow Step ready to go.
By now, he was a master of this particular tactic.
He blinked midair, then angled himself perfectly, reappearing behind the unicorn's left shoulder. His gauntlet lit up with Permafrost Grasp, Luna's newest ability. Even if it couldn't pierce that ridiculous shield, the environment would still feel it.
Frost spread from the impact site, a thin sheet of ice crackling across the grass.
"There's no way it's just you," Logan muttered, his eyes narrowing. "That shield's too strong. Something else is helping you…"
His gaze shifted.
Above the tree line, faint pulses of light flickered—multiple spirits watching from the distance, that explained it.
"So you were cheating huh…"
The unicorn wasn't alone, it was getting buffed. He clicked his tongue, half-frustrated, half-excited.
