Ning Hui squinted her swollen eyes. "I don't want to sleep alone today."
She had never felt wronged by her father and felt she very much needed company. She and Ning Yu were twins, and though Ning Yu usually acted cool, she still depended on him heavily and felt that he understood her emotions better than anyone else.
"Alright then, let's sleep," Ning Yu, already very sleepy and having school tomorrow, said.
He and Ning Hui squeezed together, and Ning Xiang tucked the quilt around them.
Ning Yu, this guy, fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow, while she was still fiddling with the pillow.
Ning Xiang sat at the edge of the bed, arranging the hair that stuck to her cheeks, and whispered, "Doudou, would you like brother to read you a storybook?"
Ning Hui nodded.
