Chapter 351 - Resolution of The Red Sun

(Third Person POV)

[The Citadel, A Week After Drakken's Offer to Elia Martell]

Maegelle walked over to the bed, where Vaella was crying, "Oh, my sweet love..." She said softly as she picked her up, "Don't cry."

She held her in her arms as the girl cried, walking over to a table where a doll was sitting down. She took the doll and handed it to Vaella.

"There there...." She said with a smile, "It's your doll."

Vaella took the doll in her arms and sniffed, hugging it as she looked at her Mother, "Da...." She said, "Dada..."

"Oh...." Maegelle said softly, "You want your Father...."

There was a knock on the door, "Lady Maegelle...." a male voice was heard, "You have a visitor."

"Oh, Maester..." She said as she looked over at the door, "Who is it?"

"A messenger of House Drakkengard." the Maester said

"Let them through." She said as she walked to the bed, proceeding to sit on it

The door opened and Jocelyn Baratheon walked in, wearing her servant clothing. Her hair was tied up in a bun and she wore no makeup, making her nearly unrecognizable. But Maegelle recognize her almost instantly.

"You....!" Maegelle said softly, "What are you doing here?"

The door behind Jocelyn closed and she immediately got on her knees, "Lady Maegelle...." She said softly, prostrating down, "P-Please.....please forgive me...."

Maegelle looked at her, "A-Aunt...." She said, "What are you doing?"

Jocelyn sniffed, "I have realized the mistake I made...." She said as tears ran down her cheek, "I have done something terrible....the choice I made.....I did not wish for it come to this....."

"Jocelyn..." Maegelle said

"I let my urges get the better of me..." She continued, "I let them cloud my mind....I should never have done it in the first place. Because of me, I have driven you and Lord Drakken apart...it was never my intention....I have come to apologize...."

Maegelle placed Vaella back on the bed and stood up, walking over to Jocelyn, "Aunt...." She said softly as she crouched down, "Don't do this...it is not like you.....I am not angry at you, I am angry at Drakken."

Jocelyn looked up at her, tears flowing down, "But...."

Maegelle wiped some tears from her cheek, "It is no fault of yours." She said, "You were merely a victim of Drakken's malicious intents."

"I....no, I wanted it....." She said softly, "But...I didn't....I really didn't want this to happen, i am sorry..."

"It's fine." Maegelle hugged her, "I am not angry at you, I don't need to forgive you. My problem is with Drakken...."

"He...." Jocelyn sniffed, "He has not laid a hand on me since you left, I give you my word...."

"I see..." Maegelle said, "I don't mind...it is fine...."

"He....he has marched to Dorne." Jocelyn told her, "It is a Conquest. He intends to convert the dornish to the Trinity...."

Maegelle sighed, "I feared something like that would happen." She pulled away and straightened up, "But there is not much I could do about it. I can only hope that he doesn't hurt too many people....."

Jocelyn stood up, "A message from Lady Mya and Princess Saera...." She said softly, "The boys and Princess Astorias are well. They all miss you terribly, they wish for your return."

Maegelle smiled warmly, "My boys...." She said softly, "My girl, Astorias...."

Jocelyn nodded, wiping some tears away, "Yes." she said, "Your absence is quite noted....and well, I know the absence of the Princess Vaella is also something that bothers Lord Drakken."

Maegelle looked at Vaella, who was playing with the doll, "She is a sweetheart." She said with a smile, "She lets me work....but sometimes, she cries for her Father."

"I...." Jocelyn said, "I am willing to look out for her while I stay here. I can only stay here for two weeks, My Lady....before a Duskguard convoy comes through Oldtown, I am to ride with them."

"That is fine." Maegelle said, "I have made so much progress here.....But I admit, I am running out of supplies for my healing equipment.....I only took a chest of the Dust....but....I didn't want to ask Drakken to make me more...."

Jocelyn nodded, "The Blue and Red Dust? Lady Mya mentioned it..." She said, "Do you not know of the Desert God?"

"Hm?" Maegelle asked, "The Sandwyrm?"

"Yes." Jocelyn said, "Apparently, it is meant to be the new source of the Blue and Red Dust. And the spice that acts as a catalyst for many alchemical uses."

Maegelle looked at her with surprise, "What?"

"You did not know?" Jocelyn asked

"I....." Maegelle said softly, "No.....he didn't tell me about that....."

"He didn't say anything."

[Sunspear]

Tyene Martell, Elia's sister, was prostrated on the floor in front of Drakken, "I will do it." She said firmly, "Please, accept me instead of my sister."

Drakken frowned, "Huh?"

"Tyene!" Elia exclaimed, "What are you doing?!"

"I won't let you perform a Blood Contract, Sister!" Tyene said as she didn't look up, "I will do this for the sake of Dorne! Please.....let me help.....just once....."

Drakken raised his eyebrow, "You....?"

"Yes...." She said, "I am of age...I am fertile....I am sure I can provide a healthy child for you, My Lord."

Drakken sighed, "Is that so?" He said as he turned around, "The entire reason I want this is for someone to have a bond with the Sandwyrm. But I do warn you lot, my child will not be used against me. I have a failsafe in place."

Tyene slowly looked up, "I am more than willing." She said, "Please, I beg of you. Do not perform a blood pact with my sister....blood sorcery....it is not normal....we are willing to accept you as our deity....our God....but that....it's....unnatural...."

"Hm." Drakken said as he placed his hands behind his back, "Very well. This means that your sister continues the Martell line properly with a husband of her own....and your bloodline will be used without risk. Quite smart, girl.....that is fine. The Dornish Houses might accept this....yes....this will be fine."

"So....." Tyene said softly, "You will do it?"

"Sure. But not now." Drakken said, "When the time is right. Until then, I declare you untouchable. Elia will oversee that you do not dabble in any sexual acts until I return. And as the Princess of Dorne, Elia will be rather strict...right, Elia?"

He glanced back at her, giving her a serious look.

"Y-Yes...." Elia said softly, looking down, "Of course....."

Tyene stood up, "Thank you...."

"Spread the Dust all over Dorne. My Duskguard will proceed to destroy the Red Cultists." He said, "My job here is done. I give you a warning: anyone who attacks the Duskguard will be destroyed. No exceptions. I am glad we have finally been able to establish a business alliance...."

"One that won't be ruined by your brother."
