Chapter 468: Escape from Impel Down (Part 2)

The clash of slashes was overwhelming.

Though Shiryu retaliated with a powerful sword strike, it was instantly crushed by Shiki's dual sword slashes, which tore through it like paper.

Shiryu had no time to dodge—he could only block.

Clang!

The force of the twin sword slashes slammed into Shiryu's blade with explosive power.

The impact sent him flying dozens of meters back.

Coincidentally, he landed right in front of the passage between the fifth and fourth floors.

Taking advantage of the momentum, Shiryu fled.

"Damn… if I weren't still this weak—if I had even seventy percent of my peak strength—I'd have finished him in a single swing."

Shiki clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction.

Two years of imprisonment had taken a toll on him. Even without the Sea Prism Stone restraints, he couldn't return to his prime strength.

"Stop showing off. Let's move."

Charlotte called out to him.

The group quickly advanced toward the fourth level.

Oddly, though they had followed closely behind Shiryu, and Shiki's attack had clearly injured him, he was nowhere to be seen.

Charlotte guessed there might be some sort of hidden passage or mechanism that allowed Shiryu to escape.

But he didn't dwell on it.

They pressed on toward the fourth level.

This level was already in chaos—explosions roared, the clash of weapons and screams filled the air.

"Move in! Wipe out the jailers—we can't escape otherwise!"

Charlotte motioned behind him.

He then locked eyes on the Warden, who was engaged in a fierce battle with Douglas Bullet.

His gaze turned cold.

Drawing his Seven-Star Sword, greenish spiritual light radiated from the blade.

In an instant, Charlotte vanished—and reappeared right behind the Warden.

Slash!

Blood sprayed.

The sword cleaved through flesh.

Boom!

The Warden crashed into the wall, blood gushing from the deep gash.

"Cough... cough…"

The Warden struggled to lift his head, coughing heavily.

But the moment he saw the figures standing behind Charlotte, he trembled violently.

Golden Lion Shiki.

Red Count Redfield.

That was too much.

"Rockefeller Charlotte… you have a lot of nerve… freeing the World Government's prisoners…"

The Warden, red-faced and furious, forced himself to stand.

"Hah. If I weren't daring, would I have become a pirate in the first place?"

Charlotte spun his sword mockingly.

"Why waste words? Let's just kill him."

Shiki grinned savagely, twin swords in hand, and lunged straight for the Warden.

The Warden, ignoring the pain in his back, hardened his fists with Armament Haki and countered Shiki's attack.

Boom!

Their clash sent out a thunderous shockwave.

"Tch… you planning to take him down alone?"

Suddenly, Redfield appeared with his signature black umbrella—retrieved from an interrogation room they'd passed.

"Bastard! This is my fight!"

Shiki yelled, irritated.

"This isn't the time for infighting. If we don't take him down, none of us are getting out of here alive."

Charlotte joined in, thrusting his blade toward the Warden's chest.

The Warden barely evaded.

A man of his caliber—at one time near admiral level—was no pushover.

He'd experienced countless battles in his youth before being sent to Impel Down to live out his final years.

But now he faced a deadly triangle:

Charlotte, Shiki, and Redfield.

The three moved with brutal precision, aiming to quickly eliminate this obstacle.

Bang! Boom!

Stone and debris flew everywhere.

The Warden was pushed to his limit, overwhelmed.

He could barely retaliate now, each of their blows slamming into him relentlessly.

Whoosh!

Charlotte seized an opening.

A blow laced with Conqueror's Haki crashed toward the Warden's skull.

The Warden, face bruised and battered, stared at the flash of light from that ultimate strike—

And fell.

Boom!

Plop!

His head separated cleanly from his body, thudding to the stone floor.

"WARDEN!"

Across the battlefield, Magellan roared in anguish.

"You want to die too, huh?!"

Caesar Clown, still fighting Magellan, snapped, frustrated by the poison attacks.

Magellan froze momentarily at Caesar's words.

Then his young face twisted in internal conflict.

With a shout, he unleashed a massive Venom Dragon toward Caesar.

Caesar, eyes wide, scrambled to dodge.

No one wanted to be touched by that thing—not even Caesar's father would dare try.

After launching the venomous beast, Magellan immediately retreated.

Caesar was caught off guard.

He hadn't expected that.

"Everyone, move! Don't linger!"

Charlotte called out.

After over an hour of fighting, out of the hundred-plus elite crewmembers he brought, fewer than twenty had fallen.

In contrast, they had killed six to seven hundred jailers—not including beasts and guardian creatures.

All of Charlotte's preparation over the years was finally paying off.

His elite force had proven its might.

And this was just over a hundred of them.

He had 3,000 more soldiers trained in the same way—each handpicked and tougher than the Marines' best.

With no more high-ranking jailers left to resist them, Charlotte's group charged upward to the surface.

"Sunlight… real sunlight!"

The prisoners who had followed Charlotte all the way up wept with joy as they saw the sun overhead.

They had mentally prepared to rot in prison forever.

But Charlotte's arrival had brought a glimmer of freedom.

After so many years in that lightless hell, they had nearly forgotten what the sun looked like.

While the escaped prisoners rejoiced—

Charlotte, Shiki, and Redfield all frowned at once.

Their eyes locked on the sea—toward the Gates of Justice.

Three Marine battleships were steadily approaching Impel Down.

And on the lead ship—

Kong, former Fleet Admiral, stood on the deck.

He raised a telescope to observe the now-open gates of Impel Down.

"Is that… Rockefeller Charlotte? And Golden Lion Shiki? And Red Count Patrick Redfield?"
